The winners, according to something I read, are Kalan Porter (winnner) and Jacob Hoggard (runner-up). I have MP3s of both versions of "Awake In A Dream".

down to the final 3 with casey, courtney and anthony. casey will go this week no matter what happens I believe, courtney and anthony are just too far ahead in terms of fan base. both will get record deals so I doubt it matters which one wins, but I do think anthony will as he is the only one that hasn't been bottom 3 all series.
tomorrow night is the final 3 performing, one gets kicked off on monday, then the follow sunday night is the final two and I think the monday the day after is the finale.

Glad you were wrong and that Courtney is gone I doubt Casey will win but I hope she does. It'll be a great finale!

well, last night saw the final two, casey donovan and anthony callea, performance live for the audience for voting for the last time before next sunday night's grand finale at the sydney opera house.
Anthony opened with the new single that one of them will release as their first single, it's a song Dianne Warren wrote called "Listen With Your Heart"... i wasn't sure about it at first, but it is okay, your typical Idol song really. It will debut at number one in two weeks anyway.
Casey then performed a Vanessa Amorosi song called 'Take Me As I Am" and quite frankly, it was by far the best performance of the whole night. She's performed very well in the live shows, but this was probably her best performance of the series.
Anthony then performed Craig David's "Walking Away" and as I expected, it was very ordinary and well below his best. He smiled far too much in it.
Casey then performed Evanescence's song "Hello". I hadn't actually heard it before, and it may not have been the best song pick considering the target audience is young screaming fickle girls, but i guess if they have their album they should know it. As a performance it was still very good though.
Anthony came out and performed his last one, "Glory of Love", some 80s power ballad. Did a pretty good job of it, however some of his previous performances far outweigh this. If you go to the australian idol website you might be able to find his performance of "The Prayer" - that was the best performance of the series, it is just amazing.
Casey finished the night with her version of "Listen With Your Heart" and it was okay but clear that it probably is not the best song for her. Anthony's version was better in parts, but it was still okay.
So there you have it. Anthony has been widely tipped to win AI ever since Ricki-lee's shock exit about 5 weeks ago. Someone even put $10000 on him to win at the betting agency!! But I do think Casey is closer than some people think, it really is up in the air, especially if you only consider the performances.

Anthony is really forgettable, the only time he impressed me was with "The Prayer". Last night he annoyed me again like he did in the beginning. The song, "Listen To My Heart", is quite bad. But Casey's version is a lot better. As for best performance, I'd say "Hello", since I've always loved that song and Casey's version was great, except for the shaky ending. I don't blame her though cause that's just really hard to sing. Here's to Casey winning

The votes have been counted...the verdict is in...this year's Australian Idol is Casey Donovan!!!
Even though I was going for her and believed she could win it all week, I was still massively shocked and surprised when they read her name out!! Just great for her, unbelievable for a 16 year old girl who has grown massively this year.
The entire show was great and certainly action-packed, so much so that it went 45 minutes overtime!! But yeah, excellent night.
Tonight also confirmed to me yet again that Angie, who was voted out first in the top 12, was one of the best in the competition and deserves a record deal. But Casey winning is a bigger shock than Angie going first and Ricki-Lee going 5th.

hahahaha, anthony's massive teenybopper girls base is going ape shit on the official AI forums!! Saying he was robbed etc. lol they probably just ran out of money, stupid cows. read some of it here and have a laugh: au.messages.yahoo.com/australianidol/board.html?b=athony_calleayou can also laugh at the dickhead who put $10,000 on Anthony to win. As for Casey, apart from winning a record contract, she wins a car but of course being only 16 means she won't be able to drive it for a while... Casey Donovan, our Australian Idol:
