Since "Let's Get Retarded" has been re-worked into "Let's Get It Started" for use as the official theme song of this year's NBA Playoffs, the group has re-issued their "Elephunk" CD with "Let's Get It Started" added as a bonus track.
The store I work at just got the new version in stock today, so it's probably on the shelves in most stores in case any of you want to throw a few bucks the Peas' way.

i'm not liking the idea of re-issuing an album for the sole purpose of making more cash... i'd just release the single

Hey, it's working wonders for "In This Skin".

i'm not liking the idea of re-issuing an album for the sole purpose of making more cash... i'd just release the single Especially in this instance, when it's the for the fourth single. I'd be willing to bet that most people bought the CD when "Where Is The Love?" came out, with a few more purchasing it during the releases of "Shut Up" and "Hey Mama." I agree with your suggestion of releasing it as a single. Then again, if the song is popular enough, it could end up as a track on the next edition of the "Now" or "Totally Hits" series (depending on which series their label contributes to).

Hey, it's working wonders for "In This Skin". Yeah, but "In This Skin" was re-released after one disappointing single, "Sweetest Sin." "Elephunk" has 3 successful hits under its belt already...

I'd say there's no real point in re-releasing the CD when there's already a quite similar version of the added track (Let's Get Retarded) on the existing CD.

I'd say there's no real point in re-releasing the CD when there's already a quite similar version of the added track (Let's Get Retarded) on the existing CD. Even though releasing a single would be the sensible way to go, my guess is that people at their label are trying to make themselves some more money like Ben mentioned above. These days, the music industry isn't about doing what's right. The industry is about doing what will make the most money that very moment for those in charge.

Regardless, I dont think the re-release will help too much in sales
