Christina Aguilera, "The Voice Within" I was still following the top 40 then, so the song started late and fell off early, but it spent 16 weeks on the chart, with 10 of those weeks at #1. The chart run was: 6-4-2-2-2-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-3

The closest is probably one-third. "Hemorrhage" spent 12 weeks on top, 37 total. Default's "Taking My Life Away" was #1 for 18 weeks but spent nearly 60 weeks total.

Since my Top 30 began, all songs fall off after 10 bi-weekly appearances. So the only songs that have lasted 5 or 6 charts at #1 are:
Take A Message - Remy Shand (6 charts at #1, 2002) Hanging By A Moment - Lifehouse (5 charts at #1, 2001) Faded - soulDecision (5 charts at #1, 2000)
The only other song to last 5 charts or more at #1 was in 1998, "Everybody Here Wants You" by Jeff Buckley, which was #1 for all 6 of its appearances before I retired it.

Britney's "I'm A Slave 4 U" was #1 for 12 weeks, and spent 20 weeks on the chart. That was because it charted when my chart was a top 20 format, and the retirement policy was 20 weeks.
