I will start my chart right on January 1st and do it weekly. It will most likely be a top 30, but it could change to a top 40. And to make it more intersting, I am adding a point system to make it more fun or at least for me.
1st place gets 50 points 2nd gets 45 points 3rd threw 5th gets 40 points 6th threw 10th gets 30 points 11 threw 15 gets 20 points 16 threw 20 get 10 points 20 threw 29 get 5 points 30 gets 1 point
My quetion is this: Is the point system good? Should I change the point disrupition? How would you do it?

Well, your way, a song that spends two weeks at #30 gets only 2 points while one position higher gets 5 points, a significant higher amount. But a song at #20 for a week also only gets 5 points. I'd say just do it inverse. #1 gets 30 points, #2 gets 29 points, #3 gets 28 points, etc, etc.

I use a more complicated formula with a similar weight. However, each position on my chart gets a point value inversely proportional to the square root of the chart position, leading to approximately equal values for lower chart positions, and a greater weighting towards the upper positions.
