The only thing close to a rule I have is that I wait to chart album tracks from a given album until no more singles will be released from that album.
Other than that, my chart is devoid of rules.

Only thing I try not to do is chart album tracks. If I allowed every album track I liked to chart, half of my chart could be held by one artist.

But how do you decide what's a single - since there are no singles (well pretty close to none). It used to be easy to pick the potential singles from a album, the first track of the "1" side was the 1st choice, the 1st track of the "2" side was the second choice and then third choice was the last track on the either the "1"side or the "2" side. NOTE>>> For those too young to remember, albums had TWO sides, the "1" side and the "2" side. each side contained between 4 and 7 songs. Usually only 2 songs from a album would get airplay as singles. (singles had "A" & "B" sides)<<<<<ETON
