by that i mean, which acts/singers got one huge hit, only to never chart again? i checked my chart with #1's only so far and here's the list Mad'House - Like A Prayer can't say i'm entirely surprised by this one, most dance acts are lucky to get a second chanceJimmy Eat World - The Middle This caught me by surprise a little bit, "A Praise Chorus" as well as a few other songs from JEW looked strong enough to make the chart, it appears they did not...The Calling - Wherever You Will Go they haven't come even remotely close to charting since this oneThe Immigrants - Holding Onto This Somehow well, this is no surprise.. a sorta "local" bandAlien Ant Farm - Smooth Criminal had decent follow-ups, but nothing to chartRicky J. - Let It Go CanCon, the only other song from him i heard was absolute crapGorillaz - Clint Eastwood amazingly, this is the ONLY Gorillaz song to chartSugar Jones - Days Like That ahhh... bad old CanCon, thank gawd they're done...Staggered Crossing - Further Again Only heard this one, and another from this Canadian rock group... no idea what's going on with them nowATC - Around the World (La La La La La) Another Dance act, another fact one hit then goneAmy Lee - Two Times dance, periodWestlife - Swear It Again their only song i actually heard on the radioLara Fabian - I Will Love Again she hasn't really tried with any other song since thenSisqo - Thong Song had one other decent song, but this was his only SOLO hitNine Inch Nails - We're In This Together the only song by them i can even remotely standManic Street Preachers - If You Tolerate This, Then Your Children Will Be Next with ease, the longest titled song ever to appear on my chart... Unfortuantely for them "You Took the Sun From My Heart" was not strong enough to make it, and i've heard nothing else from themEric Cartman - Come Sail Away yeah, South Park's Cartman doing his rendition of the Styx song, he won't be backBare Jr. - You Blew Me Off did they ever release anything after this one??Orgy - Blue Monday "Stitches" came close, but otherwise, nothing else has happened for these guysWhite Town - Your Woman novelty, dance track (you GOTTA love it )Public Enemy - He Got Game majority of hits prior to chart debutMonster Magnet - Space Lord never even came close afterwards or even previouslyHarlem World - I Like It I was so into Mase, that anything he did, went to #1.. these guys bombed off the radar soon after (thankfullyMelanie Doane - Adam's Rib pretty surprisingly, this is her lone song to chart... Placebo - Every Me, Every You i didn't like Pure Morning when it was released...The Flys - Got You (Where I Want You) Have they ever relased anything else?Freaknasty - Da Dip novelty-ish trackOMC - How Bizzarre one of the biggest novelty tracks ever!Dru Hill - How Deep Is Your Love Though Sisqo is also in here, i decided to include them... they won't be backJet Fuel - Hang On Here We Go the former theme of MuchMusic's "Electric Circus" i never heard anything else from themShawn Mullins - Lullaby I was too late on "Shimmer", otherwise, he wouldn't be hereJerry Cantrell - Cut You In He won't be backFugees - Killing Me Softly barring a miracle, they won't be back (interesting to note... all three members also had AT LEAST a #1!)The Simpsons - Do the Bartman they won't be back....Vanilla Ice - Ice, Ice Baby lol, yeah... no he won't be backInoj - Time After Time her follow-ups weren't ggod enough to make the cutThe Rembrandts - I'll Be There For You the famed "Friends" theme... otherwise not known for anything else...House Of Pain - Jump Around Everlast has had solo hits, but as a whole, this is the only hit from House Of PainJohn Michael Montgomery - Sold (The Grundy County Auction) he never really released anything else that caught on with meVonda Sheppard - Searchin' My Soul i discovered it from "Ally McBeal" but after i finally found the title and artist, that became her sole hit... Lighthouse Family - High i know very little of this group... but i knew this song enough to give it #1 status... after that, i heard one more of their songs...Pras - Ghetto Superstar the only person to appear on this list twice, with two different groups, he won't be back

There haven't been too many for me, especially in the top 100 era... but quite often in the top 40 era, the follow-up to a huge hit would end up not charting.
Here are a few examples from my chart:
Shawn Mullins "Lullaby" was the first #1 on my chart, and I barely ever heard "Shimmer" so it ended up not charting.
Eagle Eye Cherry Another case of one big hit ("Save Tonight"), and none of his other songs were strong enough to make my chart.
New Radicals "You Get What You Give" was their only charting hit; it made top 5, while "Someday We'll Know" failed to make top 40.
Emilia Another case of a one-hit wonder; "Big Big World" was her only song to chart
Blessid Union Of Souls If my chart had been earlier, they would've had a few more hits; as a result, only "Hey Leonardo" managed to chart
B*witched "C'est La Vie" peaked at #2; none of their other singles charted
Blondie "Maria" was a top 10 hit back in 1999; their recent effort "Good Boys" failed to chart in the top 100
Collective Soul Another case of an artist that would've had more hits if my chart were around earlier; "Run" is their sole charting single
Cranberries Once again, most of their hits predated my chart... "Promises" did manage to make top 10 though.
Vengaboys "We Like To Party" was their only big hit; their later singles came close, but never quite made it
Baz Luhrmann "Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)" was his only hit, and made top 5 on my chart
Garbage Only "Special" made my chart (although had I expanded to 100 positions earlier, "Androgyny" would've charted)
Sisqo The only artist with a top 10 year-end song that ranks here; "The Thong Song" was his only charting single, and it made #1 for 2 weeks
Alice Deejay Dance acts usually end up one-hit wonders; "Better Off Alone" was no exception
Bloodhound Gang Another novelty act; "The Bad Touch" made top 10, and was their only charting single
City High Claudette later charted with Wyclef, but "What Would You Do" was the only charting single that City High had collectively
Daft Punk Another case of an artist that would've made it pre-chart; "One More Time" was their only charting single as a result
ATC Another dance act; "Around The World" made it to #13, but their follow-ups failed to chart
Evan and Jaron Only "Crazy For This Girl" charted; their follow-ups failed to chart
Natalie Imbruglia Another case where "Torn" and "Wishing I Was There" would've made it pre-chart... "Wrong Impression" has been her only charting single to date
Dirty Vegas Once again, another dance act that never charted again after "Days Go By"
Glenn Lewis "Don't You Forget It" was a fairly big hit, but his latest "Back For More" failed to chart
Bruce Springsteen Another artist that would've done well if I had a chart earlier; "The Rising" has been his only charting single to date
Wayne Wonder "No Letting Go" was a top 20 hit, but as his last name states, he was nothing more than a one-hit wonder
Barlow I don't see him coming back with another hit after "Walk Away" made top 10 last year
Theory Of A Deadman None of their other singles impressed me the way "Make Up Your Mind", their only charting single, did
Laura Pausini "Surrender" is the only song of hers I'm really familiar with, and as a result, was her only hit on my chart
Sarah Connor May be too early to tell, but I feel that "Bounce" will end up being her only hit on my chart
George Michael Another artist that would've had much success if I had a chart earlier, but "Amazing" has been his only appearance on my chart, and I don't foresee him making it again

"Why pt.2" never charted for you? It came fairly close, but never quite made it.

The 5 biggest "one hit wonders" on UU-BRU Internet Radio since 1978. They are ranked by career point total. 1. GWENYTH PALTROWGwenyth Paltrow's sole appearance on UU-BRU Internet Radio was in 2000-2001. She co-starred in "Duets", with Huey Lewis. Together, their cover of Smokey Robinson's "Cruising" debuted at #32 on September 16, 2000. The following week, they vaulted to #5, then spent 14 of the next 15 weeks at #2. (A single week at #1 was charted on November 18, 2000). Paltrow has not returned to the chart yet, but she did appear on Sheryl Crow's "C'Mon C'Mon" LP in 2002 on "It's Only Love". 2. LOS DEL RIO"Macarena" spent 25 weeks on my chart in 1996, peaking at #6. It also holds the record for the biggest hit ever on UU-BRU Internet Radio not to make the Top 5. 3. INA KAMOZE"Here Comes The Hotstepper" logged three weeks at #2 in December 1994, but I haven't heard anything else from this act. 4. BOB CARLISLEIn 1997, Bob Carlisle spent five weeks at #2 with the Christian crossover, "Butterfly Kisses". BK was a major hit, ranking at #7 on UU-BRU Internet Radio for the year. Even though he has released other tracks, he hasn't reappeared on my chart. 5. THERESA BREWEREven though she was part of a #1 single in 1996, "Show Me The Way To Your Heart", little is known about this studio singer. Her number one duet was largely due to her duet partner, Joe Esposito. He is the only act to perform on two year-end number one singles on Uu-BRU Internet Radio. In 1979, Joe Esposito was the lead singer of Brooklyn Dreams, who had the #1 song of the year with Donna Summer, "Heaven Knows". In 1988, he teamed up with Brenda Russell on "Piano In The Dark", peaking at #3, but becoming the top song of the year.

I like this thread!
Counting only songs that got to number 1
Fugees - Killing me softly The other two or 3 singles I heard by them, didn't impress me, so they didn't chart.
No Mercy - Where do you go? I still remember this song, it was really good, and so were their other songs, but the rest of their songs didn't make a big impact for me
Kula Shaker - Tattva They will only chart again over my dead body! This song is great, but the rest are mostly crap
Wet Wet Wet - If I never see you again After this song and "Strange" I never heard from them again.
Meredith Brooks - Bitch I don't like this song anymore, and her other songs were not that good to enter my chart.
Jewel - Foolish games Great song, but after her first album, she has gotten worse..
From 1998 I have not had one hit wonders, sometimes they have been before in the chart or they have others after their number one.
And by the way Bengino Man, you should check out Westlife more, they are still as amazing as before.

Plummet: The dance act took out my favourite song of 2003 with "Damaged" but I doubt we'll hear much more anytime soon.
Aurora: Another dance act, they made number one last year for two weeks with "Sleeping Satellite" but nothing since.
Stylophonic: Had two weeks at number one last year with "Way of Life" but nothing since.
Kym Mazelle: A number one with "Young Hearts run free" but nothing else.
2Pac: Only "Changes" ever did well
Resin Dogs: Aussie band which made number one with "Hardgroove 2001" but not much else worth charting. They are still around.
Vitamin C: "Friends Forever (Graduation)" did well but nothing else did.
Safri Duo: Another dance act, they did well with "Played-A-Live (The Bongo Song) but not much else.
Unique II: "Break My Stride" did well back in 1997 but nothing else did.
Dario G: "Sunchyme" is a great song but follow up songs weren't so good.
Mary Mary: Did well with "Shackles (Praise You)" but again, nothing else that followed.
Toni Braxton: "Unbreak My Heart" was a great song but I didn't like any other songs of hers.
Madamoiselle: A DJ i assume who made number one with "Do You Love Me" but had nothing that followed it.
there are plenty more but those are some who have made some of my favourite songs.

Here are my one-hit wonders:
Nobody Knows - Tony Rich Project This spent 2 weeks at #1 in 1996. I liked his two follow-up singles, but not enough to chart either of them.
Macarena - Los Del Rio I never heard another song by them after Macarena's popularity died out to know if I'd even like anything else.
My Love Is The Shhh! - Somethin' For The People This catchy Pop/R&B hit topped my chart in late 1997. They released a couple more songs, but I never even heard them to know if I'd like them or not.
Ghetto Supastar - Pras Michel f/ O.D.B. & Mya Although Mya and O.D.B. appeared on my chart after this song topped it in mid-1998, Pras never again graced my Top 50 with his prescence.
Never Ever - All Saints Their debut North American single, "I Know Where It's At," charted prior to this song hitting #1, but they never hit my Top 50 again afterward.
Where My Girls At? - 702 This trio rode the late-90s female R&B group craze to #1 on my chart for 3 weeks in mid-1999, but never made my chart after that.
Spend My Life With You - Eric Benét & Tamia Tamia charted again after this spent 3 weeks at #1 in the fall of 1999. Eric even charted prior to this song hitting #1, duetting with Faith Evans on "Georgy Porgy," but he never again appeared on my Top 50 after this one.
Days Go By - Dirty Vegas This song, popularized by a car commercial, was Dirty Vegas' only foray onto my Top 50...landing at #1 for 2 weeks during the summer of 2001.
Frontin' - Pharrell feat. Jay-Z Although Pharrell has been a featured artist on many songs I've charted, his only solo track (a song from the Neptunes-produced "Clones" compilation) is the only song by him I've charted. It spent 2 weeks at #1 in the fall of 2003.
Milkshake - Kelis "Milkshake" spent 3 weeks at #1 in late 2003 and early 2004. I hadn't charted Kelis prior to that or since then.
Sorry 2004 - Ruben Studdard The AI2 winner went to #1 in February of 2004. Although he's released 2 follow-up singles, neither of them have made my chart yet. His debut single, "Superstar," did make my chart prior to him hitting #1 with "Sorry 2004," though.
Excluding Ruben, Pharrell, Eric, and All Saints, everyone else on this list has been a true one-hit wonder on my chart: no songs charted prior to hitting #1. No songs charting after their #1 hit.
In line to become a possible one-hit wonder: Leave (Get Out) by JoJo

Here are my one-hit wonders. My chart is now a year old, but here are mine so far:
It's My Life, No Doubt If I had started my chart earlier they would have had more hits; with the band taking a hiatus and Gwen Stefani releasing a solo album, I don't know if they'll be back
Red Blooded Woman, Kylie Minogue Like No Doubt, would have had more hits if I started earlier. Though this hit #1 this April, nothing else from her "Body Language" album is anything I like and won't be making my chart.
Dance With My Father, Luther Vandross Beautiful song, hit #3 in October 2003 but didn't like anything else from him since then
Into You, Fabolous featuring Tamia Not really into rap (probably never will be) but I liked this song enough to go to #6 on my chart. Tamia hit #9 this year with "Questions" but I doubt Fabolous will be back on my chart.
A Toast To Men, Willa Ford featuring May Wow...two one hit wonders on one song! Don't think either one will be back on my chart.
Have You Ever Been In Love, Celine Dion She might have a hit this summer with "You and I" but right now I don't like it enough to make my chart. Other than that, Celine hasn't had any other hits on JT25 besides this.
Bounce, Sarah Connor Hit #5 this April, but since then haven't heard anything else from her
Fighting Temptation, Beyonce featuring Missy Elliott, MC Lyte and Free MC Lyte is an early 90's rapper, and Free is the co-host of BET's 106 and Park, you won't be seeing either of them again on my chart
Mr. Bartender (It's So Easy), Sugar Ray Sugar Ray would have had more hits if I had started my chart earlier and I liked more of their hits from their latest album, probably will be their only JT25 hit unless they come out with something else I like.
The Trouble With Me, Lucy Woodward Without sales or airplay and only appearing on one other personal chart besides mine at the time, this song did pretty well, peaking at #10. However, nothing else from Lucy Woodward has made my chart.
Up Against All Odds, Tarralyn Ramsey Winner of VH1's Born to Diva... liked this, but nothing else by her I like, you won't be seeing her on my chart again
Tomorrow, Lillix They would have made it when I first started my chart, but "It's About Time" was losing at radio, so "Tomorrow" so far is their only hit.
Crazy, Dream featuring Loon Like "A Toast To Men", two one hit wonders on one song - Dream would have had hits earlier if I had started my chart while "He Loves U Not" and "This Is Me" were big. It doesn't look like either will be back at all on my chart.
Feel Good Time, Pink feat. William Orbit William Orbit is credited as a featured artist on Pink's song from the sequel to "Charlie's Angels" from last year, peaked at #6 but you won't be seeing Orbit on my chart again.
Last Thing On My Mind, Ronan Keating & LeAnn Rimes Only liked this song because of LeAnn Rimes; Ronan Keating will never have another hit on JT25.
Peacekeeper, Fleetwood Mac This hit #20 when I first started my chart but all their hits were WAY back from when I started my chart
Crazy In Love, Beyonce featuring Jay-Z Other than this, I don't like Jay-Z. Enough said.
Most likely to be one hit wonders on my chart (but too early to tell): JoJo "Leave (Get Out)" Sugababes "Hole in the Head" Mis-Teeq "Scandalous" Seether "Broken" Anastacia "Left Outside Alone" Teena Marie "Still In Love" Tamyra Gray "Raindrops Will Fall" Cherie "I'm Ready"

These are from my 50 biggest charting singles in the Top 20 Era:
Kelis - Milkshake: Who knows if she'll be back, but for now, she's only had this.
Lil' Kim f. 50 Cent - Magic Stick: Even if 50 wouldn't count, this is the closest thing he's had.
Missy Elliott - Work It: This was her first single since the start of the Top 20 Era. "Pass That Dutch" did come close but missed.
JC Chasez - Blowin' Me Up (With Her Love): Doubt he'll be back other than maybe with 'N Sync, and even that's likely a longshot.
Junior Senior - Move Your Feet: This fits Ben's definition of the one-hit dance act.
The Donnas - Take it Off: I don't think I'll hear anything from them again.
Faith Hill - Cry: I hear her singles less and less these days. Had this been a few years earlier, in the days of the Breathe album, she wouldn't be here.
Shakira - Objection (Tango): "Whenever Wherever" had already peaked at radio by the start of the Top 20 Era, and nothing else came close.
Nelly Furtado - Powerless (Say What You Want): (*asterisk*) This ONLY counts in the Top 20 Era. She had 2001's top single with "Turn Off the Light". 2001 was the last year of the Top 10 Era.
Rob64 - The Sunshine: Are there any users who still put out singles, or has that practice died? For those who don't know, this was a long-running #3 in the late-summer/early-fall of 2002. But it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out he's not coming back. (No offense intended)
Jewel - Intuition: "Standing Still" had also peaked by the start of the Top 20 Era, although I'm not certain Id've charted that. Nothing else from This Way came close, and the only other single from 0304 I've heard to date is "Stand", which I thought was average.
Dixie Chicks - Landslide: This would be because it's likely to be their only cross-over hit. I don't listen to country as much as I used to these days.
Other mention goes to Switchfoot, who counts so far but I'm waiting for "Dare You to Move" before passing judgment.
And I'd like to point out a few who actually had a second charting single:
LL Cool J - Luv U Better: "Paradise" peaked at #17.
TLC - Girl Talk: "Damaged" peaked at #12.
Fefe Dobson - Take Me Away: One week prevented her from counting; "Everything" spent a week on at #17.
Kelly Rowland - Stole: "Can't Nobody" peaked at #12.
T.A.T.U. - All the Things She Said: "Not Gonna Get Us" peaked at #11.
Frankie J - Don't Wanna Try: "We Still" peaked at #16.

Are there any users who still put out singles, or has that practice died? There haven't been any since last fall... they've said that they might have some new songs coming out, but I doubt it, and if they do, I don't think anyone's interested anymore
