I have no Tommy Leeing clue why, but when I download something with firefox, I get this error (Well sometimes it works too):
... could not be saved, because you cannot change the contents of that folder.
Change the folder properties and try again, or try saving in a different location.

There's a couple possibilities... The folder you're saving to might be "read only", your user account might not have the correct permissions to add to new files to the folder you are saving to, or you might be trying to saving to a temp folder that's not there anymore.
Here's what I would do... In Firefox, go to "Tools / Options / Downloads"... select "Save all files to this folder"... click "Browse...", "My Documents"... create a new folder called "Downloads" or "My Downloads", if you don't have one already... click "OK"... See if that helps

I created a new folder, and it still does it. It does sometimes and sometimes it works. Its really ANNOYING. Especially when I'm downloading off of Rapidshare, cause then I have to wait another freakin' hour. Ugh.
