There seems to a flash pop-up that keeps popping-up on this board asking people to install spyware... Actually, it claims to a "search assistant" but, it's really spyware... I hope no one installed it.
Here's how to protect yourself and prevent further pop-ups, for anyone who's wondering:
In Windows Explorer, go to "C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc"...
Right click on the "HOSTS" file, Click "Properties"... Make sure "Read Only" is UNchecked... Click "OK"
Open up the "HOSTS" file with Notepad (double-click on it and choose Notepad)...
Under where it says...
127.0.0.1 localhost ...Add the following lines:
127.0.0.0 www.seekmo.com 127.0.0.0 seekmo.com 127.0.0.0 www.tqlkg.com 127.0.0.0 tqlkg.com 127.0.0.0 www.coolwwwsearch.com 127.0.0.0 coolwwwsearch.com 127.0.0.0 static.zangocash.com Save the "HOSTS" file.
If you can't find the "HOSTS" file, follow the instructions below then, try again... Set Windows to show Hidden files and folders * Click Start. * Open My Computer. * Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options. * Select the View Tab. * Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders. * Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option. * Click Yes to confirm. * Click OK.
