I'm thinking of getting one, and I was wondering what people's experiences have been with them. Most of them are USB 2.0 now... would they work on computers that only have USB 1.0 or 1.1? I think my computer has USB 1.0, but I don't know how to tell. I've found three varieties on sale... Kingston Data Traveler, Verbatim and PNY. Any idea whether one is better than another? Thanks.

I'm thinking of getting one, and I was wondering what people's experiences have been with them. They're great! --I've had one for about 3 or 4 years already. Just make sure that you plug them in the right way and, remember to click "safely remove hardware" before you unplug it... otherwise, you could have problems. It won't be as fast with 1.0 or 1.1 but, it will still work. Right Click on "My Computer". Click "Properties". Click on the "Hardware" tab. Click "Device Manager". Scroll through the hardware list down to the bottom where it says "Universal Serial Bus Controllers". Click on the plus next to "Universal Serial Bus Controllers"... the plus should change into a minus. If you see the word "Enhanced" listed below then you have USB 2.0... if you don't see the word "Enhanced" then, you have either USB 1.0 or USB 1.1.

I bought one this morning in the Boxing Day Sale. Thanks for the tips. I appreciate it.
