Which version of msn do you have?
I'm not sure about the older ones, but the newer version has a repair button to attempt to fix it.
That's about all I know.

Umm..what about uninstalling and re-installing it?
Did you do a virus scan? There might be a little virus or something, since you were able to use msn yesterday, i'm assuming.

What kind of Internet connection do you have for your computer? Are you connected through a Network (LAN)? Do you have to "dial in" to connect to the Internet (PPPoE)?
Here's what I would do:
Go into Internet Explorer... Go to "Tools / Internet Options / Connections / LAN Settings / " Make sure that "Automatically Detect Settings" is checked. Make sure that "Automatic Config Script" is UNchecked. And, "use a proxy server for your LAN" should be UNchecked Click OK. Click OK.
Also, go into Messenger... Go to "Tools / Options / Connection / Advanced Settings" delete whatever it says for SOCKS, (SOCKS) username, (SOCKS) password, HTTP, (HTTP) username, (HTTP) password... all of those should be blank. Click OK. Click OK

is your internet explorer in online mode? sometimes i use it when updating my website offline so i set it as offline and since it's not my default browser, i forget to put it back online which also causes msn to not connect unless it is.

Yeah, I've done that a few times. That could be the problem... but, usually it gives a "Temporarily Unavailible" error when you do that... not a proxy error.

Im guessing it was a virus because I got my computer wiped today and now it works fine!
