Whenever I've burned audio CDs in the past, I've used my old computer which has Roxio CD Creator 5.0 that came with the CD-Rom drive.
Before I sold a bunch of my old CDs, I saved the songs I wanted to keep as WAV files on my brother's newer computer since it had more memory.
Now, I'm trying to burn these WAV files onto an audio CD, but it is not working...
First Approach I Tried
First, I tried using Window Media Player (Version 10 is installed on that computer). I dragged the WAV files in manually from a folder, and pressed Burn - all the files were "inspected" and seemed to pass, but after trying to burn for awhile, the CD was ejected with error. I tried it multiple times and the same thing happened.
Do the song files have to be in the WMP Library before they can be burned? I've kept my songs separate so they don't mix with my brother's.
Is it possible to make an Audio CD using Windows without Window Media Player? I know it is possible to make Data CDs.
Second Approach I Tried
Then, I tried installing Roxio 5 into the new computer, but the software said it did not recognize the drive (I presume since the program is old and the drive - which is also a DVD drive - is new). I downloaded something from the Roxio site to make the program recognize the drive. I tried to burn an audio CD, but errors came up and the job failed.
If anyone could give me some pointers, it would be greatly appreciated. I used 5 CDs in my failed attempts. Are these CDs unusable now? It seems like such a waste.
Thank you!
