Last night, during the time I was online, I got a few popups, even when I wasn't visiting sites. Then, when I logged off, I had about 6 icons on my site, all spam stuff, like "Casino's in Vegas", etc. When I ran ad-aware last night, it said something about a possible browser hijack attempt. I keep getting a new pop-up every 5-10 minutes. They're all just spam. Does anyone know what the hell this is, and how to get rid of it? I'd appreciate the help. If not, I'm gonna reboot this bitch.

reboot it? restart it? don't talk like that
you have spyware simple. There are several spyware programs that do this... make sure you have the newest ad-aware and the newest updates then shut down your computer. Turn it on and hit F8 repeatedly till you get a screen with options... on the top there should be safe-mode. you want the select that with the up and down arrows. let it start up and log in. Your display will be differnt than normal. Don't worry. Start up ad-aware and run a FULL SCAN. Remove anything that it finds. If you have spybot run it and remove anything that it finds... If you still have the problem after this let us know... I have another program that you can run that will get rid of this problem.

It didn't work. I even d/led Spyware Blaster, and I'm still getting the prompts. Only, they're more frequent today. I've been getting one every f*cking minute. I'm really getting frustrated, and the heat isn't helping. I wouldn't be surprised if I just said "f*ck it" and rebooted. /rant.

It just....went away. After everything we tried, nothing happened. But then a night or two ago, it just disappeared. I'm not complaining, but that's weird. lol

Weird. Have you tried Spybot or Microsoft Antispyware? Different spyware removal programs will find different things. AdAware can take care of most of the spyware but, there are some things that it just can't get rid of...

I've got good news and bad news.
The good news is that I downloaded Spyware Doctor, and it found 204 infections!
The bad news is that not one of them was this pop-up f*cker, so I've still got it. The asshole who made this made sure that it wasn't easy to get rid of.

hey drew do you think he should hijack? and then post the report Yeah, that would certainly help. ...Microsoft Anitispyware would probably be his best bet at this point.
