I have been using a dial-up internet connection for 2 years now. Just recently, I have been having all these problems. The line keeps dropping. Sometimes it drops every few seconds. It's a pain. I can't even check my email sometimes because I need to keep re-connecting. This has been happening since August 2004. I have contacted my ISP over 200 times about it and they just give me a new access number. Well, that has only helped for a short time. I know the simplest solution is to change providers, but I have been stuck in a contract. If I leave early, I have to pay a huge penalty fee. I'm paying $9.95 a month. The provider's tech support told me that my modem could be really crappy and I need to buy a new one. It costs too much. And I don't want to mess up my computer. My last one died in August of '04. I bought a new one, the one I am using now. There have always been problems with the ISP, but I didn't change because I couldn't afford any other companies. In my part of town, they all cost too much. Any help, tips, suggestions would be appreciated. And a side question, is there any hi-speed ISP that costs less than $19.99 a month that is good? I'm gonna send you a pm
