Every time a virus scan is run on my computer (I have McAfee, and a scan is run about every 2-3 weeks), two files keep coming up. The two are called "wininetd" and "istsvc". These two cannot be cleaned or deleted, so my only option is quarantining them.
Does anyone know what these could be? One thing I notice is istsvc appears on a list of programs whenever I go to Start - Settings - Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs. Also, I have heard that sometimes files will appear on a virus scan because they use code that looks like virus code, but isn't. I'm wondering if these two are two such programs.

I'm not sure how to get rid of wininetd. I can't use McAfee to get rid of it, and it doesn't show up in Add/Remove Programs. EDIT: I just tried searching for the program using Start - Find. It found wininetd, but I couldn't delete it because it said the file was being used by Windows. That's not good... But as for ISTsvc...it's as good as gone. ;D

If you take the file out of memory first, you can delete it right in windows. (Start / Run "taskmgr" / Processes / if you find the process running, click on it, then click "end process" or "end task" .) Then, you'll be able to delete the file without problems.
You could also try renaming the files, restarting your computer, and then deleting the files

And I'm not sure how I can do the first one, because my computer can't find a program named taskmgr. Maybe it's named something else on my computer?

your computer can't figure out what TASK MANAGER is?? It might be called Taskman on my computer. I just ran that program, and all that's listed as running is AOL. Judging by what D-Kid said, it looks like I have no choice but to try your program. If the program's not running and I still can't delete it, I have no alternative.

wininetd is gone. ;D I was hesitant to download the other program, because my whole family is conscious about how much space is available on the computer, and I didn't want to have to deal with another huge-size program. But after seeing that it's less than 1 MB , I think I'll just keep it in case I need it again.
