Right...but eventually theyre destined to link together MSN Messenger (version 1) was originally compatible with AIM... but AOL decided to ban MSN users from using their AIM service... so that's why they're currently separate. As far as merging the IM services goes, I'm not really sold on the idea. I think it would just allow SPIM (IM spamming) to proliferate.
