An absolutely massive hit for Diana in the UK and Europe in 1986, probably her biggest hit overseas as a solo artist, it was written by the Brothers Gibb, who also provided background vox. It's one of my favourite non-Motown solo hits from her. Despite a re-release, North American audiences wouldn't take to this song, it peaked at #66 on the Hot 100.

I was living in Eastbourne, East Sussex, England when "Chain Reaction" went to #1 on the U.K. Singles Chart. When I came back to the U.S. later that year, I remember the attempt to re-launch the single at U.S. radio (I didn't even recall when it had been originally released in the U.S.), and I was stunned that it tanked ... after having been such a massive hit in the U.K.
