Originally released in the mid-80's, this classic rap tune was given new life in a Jason Nevins remix in 1998, and it went to the top of the UK charts. Got to #8 on my personal chart. Still sounds great today.

It's pretty good, Run DMC were always among the best rappers ever.

this song was pretty cool when it came out, but i got very tired of it a short while later thanks to MuchMusic's overkill of the song.

The original was great and so was this dance mix. I liked it a whole lot. And the video was good too. It incorporated clips of Run-DMC from other music videos with a group of "street kids" having a breakdancing contest inside an abandoned warehouse.

I was suprised at how well this single did in the UK in '98...I mean, it's amazing how dated the track sounds, despite the Jason Nevins remix. I've listened to a lot of material from Run DMC, but I've only heard the original maybe once or twice.
I agree with Bryan...while these guys may not be the best rappers of all time in my opinion (though they sure as hell come close), they were definitely the kings of hip hop in their day.

another song i didn't like first time round, but absolutely love now. great video clip. it finished 1998 in australia at number 2 for most sales in the year, behind only ricky martin's "(une dos tres) maria/cup of life" single. Spent a mammoth 37 weeks in the top 50 here, second only to aussie band the Living End who enjoyed an unbelievable 46 weeks (nearly a whole bloody year!) in the top 50 with their debut single. Very few singles have since made even 30 weeks.
