In honour of his new deal with Sony Classical, I'm posting this thread about his cover of Charlie Chaplin's song from Downey's film about Chaplin. The usual version is on the movie soundtrack, but Downey recorded a more contemporary version that was released as a cassette single in 1993 (and was my #4 song of that year). And it's great, he's got a terrific voice, so I'm very interesting in what kind of album he'll record for Sony. If you've heard his version of "Smile" and would like to comment, please reply!
