Billboard has reviewed this song for its August 14 issue. Due to legal reasons, the band is known in the U.S. as Shape: UK and the song is being released by Ultra Records. This simply will not help this song get noticed in North America.
Do check it out if you can, it will be a dance them of 2004. #14 on my chart this week.

The song is so UK dance that I really doubt North American radio stations will pay much attention to it It's a Hot Shot entry @ #46 on my chart this week

I've heard this... it's a pretty good dance tune, but as stated earlier, it'll be like most dance stuff that's big in the UK and go ignored on North American radio

I really like "Lola's Theme," too. It's up 27-24 on my chart this week. ;D Did you all know that it was originally an instrumental that made the club rounds in the UK last year? They added the vocal track this year for the commercial release, and it debuted at #1 on the U.K. singles chart a few weeks ago. Guess I'll have to update the artist name on my chart from "Shapeshifters" to "Shape: UK." I agree with Bryan - This will do just fine at dance radio and in the clubs (and even in maxi singles sales), but this is not going to be a pop crossover at U.S. radio in the current climate. Then again, that's the way I felt about Cher's "Believe," and it ended up being the #1 single of the year in 1999 - What an incredible surprise that was! ;D

what are the legal reasons for they to be called Shape:UK? There's a band in Los Angeles called the Shapeshifters, so the Shapeshifters in the UK changed it to Shape: UK for ths US.

Kinda like when Bush had to change their name to Bush X when it came to Canada because a band already had the name Bush (coincidentally, i believe they both are done and over with)

That's the version I downloaded - I didn't realize there was a vocal version until I heard it on the Top Of The Pops TV show (shown here in Canada on BBC Kids). As for "Believe" - that was one song I thought would blow up big here from first listen, despite it being a dance song. I'm not so sure about "Lola's Theme" but I think it has a better shot than what it's being given credit for. #1 on Club Play for sure!

Kinda like when Bush had to change their name to Bush X when it came to Canada because a band already had the name Bush (coincidentally, i believe they both are done and over with) The Canadian band Bush that held the copyright was an early 70's rock band whose members held the copyright. I would imagine they were paid in order to give the Gavin Rossdale-led band free reign for its releases.

I think this is a good tune. Just heard it the other day, kinda made me want to dance. I'm still playing it a bit and contemplating letting them debut onto my chart this week.

Since "Lola's Theme" is finished (unfortunately ), is there going to be a follow-up?
