** this is my review of the show...
Britney Spears - The Onyx Hotel Tour - April 3rd, 2004 - Air Canada Centre

Britney strutted her stuff and wowed a sold-out crowd last night at the ACC. Shaking her thing, bouncing around, and making thousands of men (and even some women) drool as her provocative and racy show shocked the Canadian crowd.
Toxic, Overprotected, Boys, Showdown
- This is what a Britney concert is all about. An explosive opening set filled with choreography that blew everyone away. The dancers were amazing and the pyro technics were in full force. Coming out in the Onyx silver mini-bus, Britney exploded onto the stage after a lackluster Skye Sweetnam and a sultry Kelis. Toxic was the obvious winner of this black catsuit set as she won the crowd right from the opening number.
Baby One More Time, Oops! I Did It Again, You Drive Me Crazy
- Some of her most profound hits were remastered for a jazz lounge feel as we were taken into the Mystic Lounge. BOMT and OIDIA kinda fell short and didnt have the impact they did at other concerts. However, YDMC was in its original form and even the parents singing along. With a pink corset and matching boots, Britney looked so cute and cuddly as she introduced her band.
Everytime
- In the secret garden, we witnessed the only moment Britney actually sang live. Her voice sounded good, but the crowd hardly noticed the cracks in her performance as Everytime came off as one of the highlights of the evening. Although a sexual romp was soon to follow, Britneys true vulnerability was shown through this great performance.
The Hook Up, Im A Slave 4 U
- We entered a wild jungle as the show took an erotic turn. Both songs got the crowd on their feet and singing along. During IAS4U, the ladies all seemed to be going wild. Great choreoraphy and The Hook Up was amazing live.
Shadow
- Sitting nicely on a swing as it raised up and Britney looked down upon her adoring crowd. It was hard to tell if this song was actually live, but regardless, it sounded excellent. The crowd busted out the lighters and really enjoyed it. Little did they know what they were in for next.
Touch Of My Hand
- After a seducing intro video with two hotel security guards watching Britney in her room, Britney emerged in a white bath robe with her dancers getting down and dirty on the beds below. As the song turned into its seductive chorus, she lost the robe and was emerged in a bathtub wearing her infamous Toxic diamond suit. Basically nude, the T.O. crowd was shocked as Britney showed how the touch of her hand felt along her body.
Breathe On Me, Outrageous
- After what everybody thought was the peak of the evening, here comes Britney again in a hot pink bra with accompanying panties. Madonna-style, she got her crotch licked, and frolicked on a Bed with her bubbly dancer Leo. After emerging in a 30-second kiss (which the crowd loved), the parents in the show started to get antsy as many eyes soon became covered. In what was definitely the sexual peak of the evening, Breathe On Me made the ACC one of the hottest places to be on a Saturday night. Followed by Outrageous in the same outfit but with a trenchcoat, it was hard to get into the song because we were all still shocked by what we had just seen.
I Got That Boom, Me Against The Music
- A great way to end the show. The choreography was hot and she proved why she rocked the stage. She said goodbye to her adoring fans as she left the T.O. stage she graced with her gyrating body.

What lacked at the Onyx Hotel was what the Dream tour flourished in: The special effects. Its obvious that this tour didnt have the same budget, but the Onyx Hotel excelled in bringing Britneys stage presence to life. Nothing can compare to this tour, and those who saw the show on Showtime, please, see the show live. I guarantee it is a completely different experience.
