It was 25 years ago this week that I posted the first monthly Globalchart, likely using the Geocities platform which was later absorbed by Yahoo. I found out I was not alone in my fascination with the music charts and with making my own, which I started in January of 1998. I probably posted the chart on a few other sites, where it attracted other interested chart makers. Some of the earliest chart makers that I met were MIKEB Courage and Jason, who may have a better recollection as to where we all met. It may have not been until I launched the old Charts Central forum in 2000 but I think it may have been before that. To celebrate our silver anniversary, I added a post called Globalchart Records 1999 to present. Though I've met a number of board members over the years - I've met FreakyFlyBry three times when he's visited Toronto - I'm happy that I will finally be seeing him again along with Julian JessieLou and Pipa when they visit this month Cheers to more years of Globalcharts

Wow. Has it been 25 years already? The Internet says the typical gift for such an anniversary is silver. So Bill, in that spirit I've imagined myself ordering a one of a kind silver bullet to be shipped to you. Wait...that's only useful if you have a werewolf problem. Oh well, anyway...treasure it always!! It should be arriving as fast as your imagination can carry it. Now that you mention it, I don't remember exactly how we met. I remember joining Charts Central and then coming here when the merger happened. But for the life of me, I can't remember how I found out about Charts Central. Courage and I met in late 1997/early 1998 on another message board. Not long before that message board evolved and stopped allowing random conversation threads, he became part of the Radio & Records message board community. I know that's how many of the earliest members on this board first met. I was never a part of the R&R boards, so I can't say that's how I found out about Charts Central. Maybe you stumbled across my website and contacted me and that's how we met... It's a mystery to me all these years later. However it happened, I'm glad it did. It's been fun and interesting (and a lot of other adjectives) being a part of a community of other music lovers and chart makers over the years. Congrats on the anniversary, Bill!
