WHITE REAPER, NARROW HEAD GET POST-CONCERT BOOSTS; FALL OUT BOY, LINKIN PARK LAND BIG JUMPS WITH M4B SUCCESS
White Reaper holds the #1 spot on the Burner 50 for a third week with "Fog Machine", strongly benefiting from a boost from seeing the band in concert last Saturday. Anticipation for the concert, plus the song's recent M4B genre crossover success, propelled the song to huge success in recent weeks and it's not showing signs of easing off thanks to strong play - in fact, if "Fog Machine" manages to make it to a fourth week at #1, White Reaper will become the first band not called Pinkshift to spend more than three weeks at #1 since Joyce Manor's "Gotta Let It Go" spent seven weeks at #1 from April-June 2022. Also benefiting from the concert: "Bozo", the third entry from the band's Asking For A Ride album, vaults 36-15 in its third week in the top 50.
Closely following with a big post-concert boost itself is White Reaper's opening act, Narrow Head, with a 12-3 jump for their set opener and current single "Caroline". The song instantly becomes their fourth top 5 peaker and second highest charting entry, challenging for their first #1. The band's current high point was with 2020's "Night Tryst", which peaked at #2.
Chappaqua Wrestling's resilient "Wayfinding" gets a third week at #2, while Witch Fever creep up 6-4 to a new peak with "At The Core" and Fall Out Boy jumps 14-5 with "Love From The Other Side", a jump coming in part from its huge M4B success since its release despite charting uncharacteristically late for me. In another 2000's alternative throwback, another emerging M4B hit, Linkin Park's recently released Meteora outtake "Lost", jumps 17-8. "Lost" shows a strong chance of becoming a #1 contender in the coming weeks, not only from strong play and strong M4B support, but also Linkin Park's upcoming 20Hitz episode.
Tigercub's "Play My Favourite Song" lands the top debut of the week at #34; the Queens Of The Stone Age-inspired track was released amid the band's announcement of a headlining US tour on the back of the recent rock radio success of their previous single "The Perfume Of Decay", which peaked here at #6. Also debuting this week are Bully and Soccer Mommy's collab "Lose You" (#48, Bully's first charting entry since 2020) and Bedridden's "Clara's Mouth" (#49).
