Guess I will go into depth with my Top 10
10. Everywhere - Niall Horan & Anne-Marie
I am a huge fan of Niall. He is my favourite from the One Direction boys. I really like most of the songs he's released. This is no exception. This a cover of Christine McVie's Fleetwood Mac song, Everywhere.
9. Complete Mess - 5 Seconds of Summer
This was their biggest for me and their second number one song. Great to have Down Under represented here.
8. Valentine - Jim Brickman & Olivia Newton-John (25th Anniversary Remix)
This is Olivia's highest placement for 2022. A new version of the song she and Jim recorded 25 years ago. I'm hoping for any new unreleased music from Olivia in the years to come. Not sure what else I should say. except
7. Do I Love You (Indeed I Do) - Bruce Springsteen
This has been Bruce's most successful song for me, his 5th number one song. Love the old school Motown feel on this.
6. Until I Found You - Stephen Sanchez
When I first saw his name showing up on the charts I listened to it thinking it was gonna sound like most of the "Biebersque" dribble out there where all the songs sound alike thanks to autotune. But man, this song blew me away. The vocals, the music. Like Bruce's hit, a big old school sound.
5. Late Night Talking - Harry Styles
This is Harry's 3rd #1 for me and also his biggest. Also noticed that it's Harry second single released that really clicks the most for me. "Two Ghosts", "Watermelon Sugar" and this one
4. I Think I Like You - Band Camino
Another song that came out of nowhere for me and did really well.
3. Ain't the Same - Brett Kissel & 98 Degrees
Canadian country singer, Brett Kissel biggest hit for me along with the biggest for 98 Degrees. It was great to have the 90s boyband back again!
2. It'll Be Okay - Shawn Mendes
Shawn is one of the few current pop male singers that does well for me. This is one of nine #1 songs for Shawn. In 2019 he had the #1 song of the year with Seniorita. This finishes in the number 2 spot!
And now the number one song of the year for me. She is no stranger to the number one song of the year. In 1987, "Seven Wonders" with Fleetwood Mac and in 2017 "In My World" with Lindsey Buckingham. We're of course talking about Christine McVie. Christine as a songwriter did very well. With the points of "Songbird" by Rita Wilson and Josh Groban at #76, "Everywhere" by Niall Horan & Anne-Marie at #10 and this one, Christine as a songwriter would be the Top Artist of the Year. The #1 song of year 2022 is "Slow Down"
There have been a lot of sad "celebrity" passings this year. But Olivia and Christine's have been the hardest for me in many many years.
Thanks for following along
