JOYCE MANOR LANDS SEVENTH WEEK AT #1; JERRY CANTRELL CLOSE TO A THIRD CHART TOPPER
Joyce Manor remains hot on the Burner 50 as "Gotta Let It Go" extends its hold at #1 to a seventh week, now one week away from becoming the first song to spend eight consecutive weeks at #1 since fall 2020, when Teenage Wrist's "Earth Is A Black Hole" ruled for two solid months. The band's followup "Don't Try" is looking to compete to become the band's second chart topper with a 4-3 move. Both songs are charting high ahead of next week's release of their album 40 Oz. To Fresno, and it's likely the impact of the album release may continue the band's decisive dominance.
Jerry Cantrell, however, is challenging that as "Had To Know" advances 3-2, rallying as a result of strong exposure from M4B Radio listens during the drive for my relocation to Arizona. "Had To Know" is aiming to become Cantrell's third Burner 50 #1, following "Atone" and "Nobody Breaks You", two of my chart's biggest hits of the last 10 months. Cantrell's success is owed in part to the massive M4B genre success of the Brighten era, which brought six of the album's nine songs to the M4B Radio Top 40 top 5 (including four #1s) and the Globalchart top 25 (including two top 10s).
Two other songs benefit immensely from the road trip exposure, Rina Sawayama's "This Hell", with a 15-spot rally from 24-9 in its third week to become the British-Japanese pop singer's second top 10 following last year's #5-peaking cover of Metallica's "Enter Sandman", and the Red Hot Chili Peppers' "These Are The Ways", bolting 42-20 in its second week.
Pipa earns the week's top debut at #25 with "(Got Me Feeling) Pipa", which has taken off on a number of personal charts since its mid-May release. "(Got Me Feeling) Pipa" builds on his previous user song success producing JessieLou's Take Me As I Am and Love Is Blind albums and Julian's "James Charles Is At It Again".
