JOYCE MANOR FENDS OFF SOCCER MOMMY FOR #1; JERRY CANTRELL CONCERT IMPACTS
Maintaining a solid spin count lead, Joyce Manor holds the #1 spot for a second week on the Burner 50 with "Gotta Let It Go", extending the reign of the band's first ever #1 and fending off a challenge from another artist seeking to claim a first, Soccer Mommy. The one-woman band of Nashville singer and songwriter Sophie Allison benefited from strong play and moderate crossover support on M4B to rise into the top 5 from #17 last week with "Shotgun", and the lead single from her upcoming third album Sometimes, Forever reaches a new peak of #2, helped from M4B Radio exposure from the past week.
Meanwhile, the much anticipated moment where Jess and I saw Jerry Cantrell in concert (which already made a deep impact on Jess's chart) sparked an expanded presence for the Alice In Chains guitarist and singer. Cantrell's "Prism Of Doubt", the fifth Globalchart top 20 and M4B Radio Top 40 top 2 from Brighten, sneaks into the top 10 with an 11-5 move. "Prism Of Doubt" was one of two songs from the album that became a hit on M4B without an official single release; the other, "Nobody Breaks You" (a former Burner 50 #1), rebounds 40-29, helped in part by the song receiving its live debut at the concert we attended. And most significantly, Cantrell makes an immense debut with a sixth song from Brighten on my chart, "Had To Know", which is the week's top debut at #14; that one, already a massive hit on Jess's chart, was the standout discovery from the Brighten Book Club episode. "Had To Know" follows the album's three official singles as Cantrell's fourth top 20 debut (the debut positions for the singles: #3 for "Atone", #19 for "Brighten" and #18 for "Siren Song").
JessieLou herself also makes an impact as an artist - "Don't Talk To Me On Sunday", the second single from her recently released sophomore album Love Is Blind, benefits from strong M4B Radio exposure and its immense early impacts on the Globalchart and M4B Radio Top 40 to vault 26-6 in its third week in the top 50.
For good measure, a number of strong Unkiecore favorites are making moves as well. Citizen's recent one-off single "Bash Out" jumps 25-9 in its second week on, Microwave earns their first top 10 hit since a hot streak in 2019 with new single "Circle The Drain" up 14-10, and Boston Manor appear likely to join them in the top 10 by next week with "Foxglove", which moves 31-12.
