Since there isn't an album thread for this, I thought I'd make one. This to me is one of her best albums to date. It's a very consistent album overall and has quite a few different themes whether it's a politically charged anthem like "You Need To Calm Down" or "Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince", a classic sounding ballad like the title track "Lover", an anthemic ode to 1989 like "Cruel Summer" or the moving "Cornelia Street". I think the album was a nice change of pace for her in contrast to it's predecessor as it has a lighter tone overall but still tackles important topics. The album cover is my favourite of hers to date and represents the album well overall. I will say that the single choices for the campaign do feel odd and should have been: 1. CRUEL SUMMER 2. LOVER 3. I THINK HE KNOWS 4. THE MAN 5. CORNELIA STREET Either way, this is a great way to end the decade off for the artist of the decade of the 2010s.

I agree, this album is superb! I would rank it only below Speak Now and above Red. I am one of the few who love ME!, but I also would have led the album with Cruel Summer. Cruel Summer is a Tour de Force and needed all the attention it could get. Lover is also great and I didn't know it was an official single until a few days ago lol I am glad I didn't even know the Dixie Chicks were in one of the best songs, Soon You'll Get Better, cause I can enjoy it even better that way... I mean, now I know they're there, but I can ignore that fact lol London Boy is another favorite as is The Man. And yes, the cover is lovely. In fact, her best cover yet, which is not hard to do, since she isn't known for amazing covers for her albums

I wanted to add that The Archer is a masterpiece and the best song in the album ♥

tbh this is the only Taylor album I haven't gotten. I think I'm getting Taylor fatigue. Me! and Lover did well on my chart, but You Need to Calm DOon got overplayed very fast and nothing else I've heard from the album has really grabbed me.
