Wow, so shocking R.I.P. www.tmz.com/2018/01/15/cranberries-dolores-oriordan-dead-dies/The Cranberries lead singer, Dolores O'Riordan, died Monday in London. Dolores and the rest of the band were reportedly in London for a recording session. A rep for the band would only say she died "suddenly." The rep offered no further details. The Irish band struck it big in the '90s ... when Dolores took over for their previous lead singer. Their songs "Zombie" and "Linger" were huge international hits. Dolores released 2 solo albums while the Cranberries were on hiatus. They got back together in 2009. She split from her husband of 20 years in 2014, and had 3 children. Dolores was 46.

Very sad to hear about this. Rest in peace.
To honor her musical legacy, I'll be playing a retrospective of a handful of The Cranberries' hits on Jammin' 95 starting at around 4:50 or 4:55 p.m. North American Eastern Time today (January 15), if anyone would like to listen in. listen.shoutcast.com/jammin-95 (Then, click on "Listen" to open in Winamp, or simply click on the Play button on the embedded player)

I apologize in advance... this is more than likely going to turn into an essay. This one hurts SO f*ckING MUCH omg. I still can't believe it. Like most alternative artists I was late to the party with The Cranberries, as I got into them around 2005-2006 when I was about 13 years old. I still remember the first time I heard "Zombie". That was the moment I fell in love with Dolores and her voice. What a kick ass song. Still one of my favorite songs ever. Discovering that led me to discover so many other great songs from them like "Linger", "Dreams", "Ode To My Family", "Ridiculous Thoughts", "When You're Gone", "Salvation", "Free To Decide", "Just My Imagination", "Promises", "Not Sorry", "I Can't Be With You", "Stars", "New New York", "Analyse", and a bunch of other ones that I forgot to mention and will kick myself for not mentioning later. I remember in 2006 my family and I went to the movies to see "Click" with Adam Sandler and there was a running joke throughout the movie that involved "Linger". At the end she made a cameo appearance and I was glowing in the theater the moment I recognized that it was her. I remember for my 14th birthday, one of the CDs I got was "Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?". I was SO happy! I remember how f*cking PSYCHED I was for her solo album "Are You Listening". "Ordinary Day" and "When We Were Young" were huge #1 hits on my chart (the former being my #1 song of 2007). I still listen to most of the songs on that album on a regular basis and is one of my favorite albums of the last decade. Jawshii may not like me very much for bringing this up, but I remember he made a poll here on the boards asking who between the two of us liked "When We Were Young" more, and EVERYONE voted for me. They weren't wrong. Even the more recent stuff was great. I loved "Tomorrow", "Schizophrenic Playboy", and "Why". I never even got to see them live, and they were on my bucket list. RIP to one of the most iconic voices of the 90's <3

What an absolute shock this is She was ONLY 46! Not fair!! I'm still waiting to hear what caused this tragedy to happen to one of the most unique voices I've heard in music.

Well that was news to me, so thanks Julian. Over here I hadn't heard any follow-up on what had happened to her, and it just seems crazy she went this way. I can't believe it took 9 months to find out. RIP Delores.
