Hello everyone!
Can't complain about the chart this week, lots of songs on the rise, while some tried and trues are on their way out (including "The Letter Song", its last appearance *sob*)...
But hey, New Order and Jann Arden are now in the Top 10, Howie Day has a run for his money to spend a third chart at #1, most of last week's debuts made big jumps... and there are four neat debuts!
NEW TO THE CHART:
DON'T PHUNK WITH MY HEART - Black Eyed Peas
Yes it's everywhere! It's everywhere! Deservedly so - destined to be one of 2005's greatest hits, from the band's forthcoming CD Monkey Business. Oh yeah, those familiar lyrics are from "I Wonder If I Take You Home", a Top 40 hit for Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam with Full Force back in 1986.
INSPIRATION - Ian Van Dahl
The production duo of Ian Van Dahl put out a couple of classic dance records in 2001 - "Castles In The Sky" and "Will I" - and have now followed it up with this sinewy, hypnotic track from their second CD Lost & Found.
OLD SKOOL LOVE - Divine Brown
A pretty soul ballad that's everywhere on Canadian radio right now, from a new diva in the making. Divine (not to be confused with the infamous Ms Brown (of Hugh Grant fame some ten years ago) is currently performing theatre in Toronto in "Ain't Misbehavin'".
OPERATOR (THAT'S NOT THE WAY IT FEELS) - Toby Lightman
Yes, I do seek out songs from other contributors' charts, and I thought that this lovely rendition of Jim Croce's 1972 hit was fit for Spring 2005. It's from the soundtrack to the TV show "Everwood".
Check out the rest of the chart at the link below my signature. And your comments are always nice to see!
