This year, the long-standing record was broken for me as Bon Jovi spent 5 weeks at #2 with "This House Is Not For Sale" without hitting #1. It was blocked by OneRepublic's "Kids" for its first week then Kate Voegele's "Free & Wild" for the rest.
Songs that spent 4 weeks at #2 without hitting #1:
Destiny's Child - Bootylicious Kelly Clarkson - A Moment Like This Train - Calling All Angels Hinder - Lips Of An Angel (non-consecutive) Gwen Stefani - 4 In The Morning Jessie J - Silver Lining (Crazy 'Bout You) Ariana Grande feat. Zedd - Break Free
Out of those artists, all aside from Jessie J have reached #1 with other songs.

I remember "Paninaro '95" by Pet Shop Boys stayed at 2 for like 3 months! "Back For Good" by Take That were blocking them.

FreakyFlyBry You got this idea from me because on my last chart, a song is spending its 7th week at #2 and nearing the longevity champs of 8 weeks without reaching #1!
