Hello all!
Hope everyone had a wonderful week. I had a pretty good week, I'm back to four day work weeks and I'm really happy about it. Anyways, onto this weeks chart.
And what a week it is! I was looking over my bubbling under section after I added quite a few songs to the rotation over the last two weeks and I realized I'd never be able chart all of the songs I wanted, so I made the decision, in the chart's 21st week, to expand to a top 25. Thus. now this is the D25 Countdown (I'm sad that the Dungeons and Dragons pun doesn't work anymore but happy I can chart more songs).
New spots mean we don't say goodbye to any songs, but there are a total of five debuts this week. Number 25 comes from Alabama Shakes, "Shoegaze" becomes the groups second song to chart after "Sound and Colour" was on the chart for a week in December. That song peaked at number 20, "Shoegaze" is looking to best that. Banners has his first chart hit as "Start A Riot" enters at 23. Tegan and Sara enter the countdown at 21 with "Boyfriend." Basement has the weeks second highest debut with "Aqusun" at 20 while Foals has the honour of being the weeks highest debut at 19 with "Mountain At My Gate."
The weeks greatest gainer is Miike Snow jumping 16-11 with "Genghis Khan," expect that song to enter the top 10 next week.
The weeks top five starts, as it did last week, with twenty one pilots with "Ride." Wintersleep cede ground this week as the former number one "Amerika" drops 2-4. The Stumbellas take advantage of Wintersleeps slipping as "Spirits" moves 4-3. Not to be outdone Adele slips into the runner up spot with "When We Were Young" (3-2), can she score a second chart topper? And the number one song this week holds on for another week, Troye Sivan takes the crown again with "Youth."
The rest of the chart is below for your viewing pleasure. Hope everyone has a wonderful week!
