1) Might have phrased the title better, but ran afoul of character limits. 2) I figure how can we mention Bruce and Bryan and then NOT Cyndi, particularly as she's taking a different strategy? CYNDI LAUPER I'M FIGHTING ANTI-LGBT LAWS ... In My OWN WayCyndi Lauper will absolutely play her upcoming concert in North Carolina, but she's also joining the fight against the state's controversial HB2 law by forking over her profits. Cyndi tells TMZ she will donate all profits from her June 4th show in Raleigh to Equality North Carolina -- an organization fighting to get HB2 overturned. She says, "I think the best way I can do my part is to turn my show into an entire day to build public support to repeal HB2." Her manager and agent will also donate their commissions. Cyndi recently told one of our photogs that unlike Bruce Springsteen, who canceled his NC concert last weekend, she feels it's important to play for her LGBT fans there. But she seems to be making it clear she has no beef with Bruce's strategy. She says "we all have to include ourselves in the effort" to build an inclusive society, but each person should do it the best way they know how. www.tmz.com/2016/04/13/cyndi-lauper-hb2-north-carolina/

That's really smart of her to donate the profits, plus not EVERYONE in NC believes in this law. Don't punish a whole state.

Mumford & Sons and Against Me! are also both playing their NC shows, with Mumford & Sons donating the shows profits to a local LGBTQ organization.

Given that the front woman of Against Me! is a trans woman I'm super glad they're still playing. Hope Laura Jane Grace f*cks shit up!

Just came home from the Cyndi Lauper show (I live in Raleigh), and it was fantastic, y'all.
She did several numbers from "Detour" -- "Heartaches by the Number," "Misty Blue," "Walkin' After Midnight," "I Want to Be a Cowboy's Sweetheart," "The End of the World" and "Funnel of Love." But she also did most of her signature songs: "She Bop," "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" (She said, "You'd have me tarred and feathered if I didn't sing that."), "Time After Time," "Money Changes Everything," "When You Were Mine" (preceded by a sweet anecdote about its writer, Prince) and "I Drove All Night." The closer was "True Colors."
She made a point before the show of telling the audience she wasn't there to "shove anything down your throats." But she did a nice introduction to three young trans kids who were directly impacted by HB2. And she closed with an appeal to "repeal that law."
Great show!
