Hello everyone,
Hope you all had a good week. I went to see Metric and Death Cab for Cutie on Friday evening with my roommates and it was amazing. I've only been to around 10 concerts in my life and 5 of them have been Metric - they just play such a good live show. So in honour of that all of this weeks countdown extras are from that show. Let's get onto this weeks chart!
We say goodbye to one song this week:
TW LW Artist – Song Weeks Peak
-- 19 Grimes – Flesh Without Blood 6 17
One song out means one song in, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Swears score their first song on the chart with "I Need Never Get Old," debuting at 20.
The weeks greatest gainer is Adele who moves 17-13 with "When We Were Young," in its second week on the chart.
This weeks top five begins in the same way it did last week, Of Monsters and Men hold onto the number five spot with "Empire." Looks like we have a new number one as last weeks number one, Adele's "Hello" drops from one to four. This weeks number three is from an artist who's already had three other top five songs, including two number one's, Troye Sivan's "Youth" climbs a spot to number three. The runner up song this week is Wintersleep with "Amerika," that track is on fire perhaps enough to make it to number one, time will tell. This weeks number one though is moving back into the top spot for a fourth week at the top, Metric's "Lie Lie Lie" creates a three way tie for the longest running number one since the chart launched again late last year (the other two are Troye Sivan's "Talk Me Down," which holds at number seven this week and M.I.A's "Borders," which falls 12-14 this week.)
That's it for this week, the full chart is below so feel free to take a look. Have a wonderful week and I'll be back next week!
