Hello all,
Happy Valentines Day everyone, hope your day is full of whatever you would like it to be full of. My girlfriend is on her way to my house so that's a cool thing. Let's get onto this week chart.
We say goodbye to three songs this week:
Falling off:
TW LW Artist – Song Weeks Peak
-- 20 Shawn Mendes – Stiches 8 14
-- 19 Elle King – Under the Influence 8 8
-- 18 Vance Joy – Fire and the Flood 8 7
Since we say goodbye to three songs we also welcome three songs onto the chart this week. City and Colour debuts at number 20 with "Lover Come Back," that marks the first of two appearances by Dallas Green (the other being number 14). The Jezebels debut at number 19 with "Come Alive," this is a band that my ex-roommate got me into over the last few weeks. Finally, the weeks highest debut comes from A Great Big World with "Oasis" at number 17. The weeks greatest gainer is Adele moving 16-11 with "Hello." I know I'm a little late on that one and I almost didn't chart it but then it grew on me enough to decide to chart it.
A note I feel I want to give regarding chart rules is that an artist can't have more than three songs on the chart at once. The reason is because I don't want one artist to take over the chart as sometimes I chart non-singles (not often but I'm sure it will happen). I say this because even though I'm listening to "Youth" by Troye Sivan a lot, it's not charting until one of three songs he has on the chart falls off.
Any who, onto the top five. Metric moves into the top 5 this week with "Lie Lie Lie" (7-5). Death Cab for Cutie holds onto the number four spot with "The Ghost of Beverly Drive," while Mumford and Sons drop 2-3 with "Ditmas." Of Monsters and Men switch places with Mumford and Sons moving 3-2 with "Empire" and M.I.A. is able to hold the top spot for another week with "Borders." This means the M.I.A has held the top spot for as long as Troye Sivan did with "Talk Me Down" a number of weeks ago. We'll have to see if M.I.A can break Troye's record.
The rest of the chart is below for you to take a look at.
You can view the playlist for the chart on Apple Music Here It's in descending order, meaning the first song is 20, the second is 19 ect. Every five songs there is an extra which are noted below the chart in this post.
