1375 - Kelly Clarkson - Miss Independent (2003) - Not a bad way to burst out into the music scene and show off your vocal range! Well, with a little help from American Idol. Not that she needed it. I quite enjoyed this release and I can't believe it's 12 years old already!
1374 - Leona Lewis - Happy (2009) - So what if it hurts me, so what if I break down? What a great song this was! It's a song about struggling and situations and it's very real. 'Real' songs do rather well for me. This hit the top of my chart for a couple of weeks.
1373 - Of Monsters & Men - Mountain Sound (2011) - I remember being amazed upon hearing this band were from Iceland. They didn't sound anything like Bjork! If this is what it sounds like in the mountains, then I wanna live there. It was very catchy!

1370 - Milky Chance - Stolen Dance (2013) - What a strong beat and sound this had! The original was actually released in late 2013 but most of the world didn't catch on until last year.
- I could really resonate with some of the lyrics to this song, so it was a pretty big hit for me back in '01. I know Usher had been around for a while before this, but this was the single that made me take notice of his talent.
- Absolutely fell in love with this gorgeous track back in '02. The simple piano that melts into the orchestra combined with drums and a beautiful vocal. It spent 4 weeks at the top of my personal chart.
- I thought she picked a wonderful featured artist for this, and I just had to share the live version for the link in this one. A damn catchy track! What a voice Lady Gaga has.
1366 - The Dandy Warhols - We Used To Be Friends (2003)
- This track ended up in my Year End chart for 2003! I don't know what it was, but it just totally tickled my listening senses and I guess I've always just liked tracks that sound a bit different but just work.
Coming up... 1365 - The fourth single from this ex-Spice Girl was turned from her 2000 debut album. 1364 - You may have softly-heard this 5th single from the debut pop album from this Aussie now-MoTown boy-band, released in '97. 1363 - The final single from these Brisbane sister's debut album in 2005. You might say this to someone who annoys you. 1362 - A song about vulnerability from this Kiwi (NZ) artist, released as the lead single from her second album in 2006. 1361 - The second sequel-single (of three) from this American thrash metal band, from 1998.

Well done guys! Correct! I don't think anyone was gonna guess 1362 so I'll reveal now 1365 - Melanie C - I Turn To You (2000) - The remix that was released as an original, I absolutely LOVED this single from Melanie C, and surprisingly, she became my favourite of the gone-soloists from The Spice Girls! I still own the album this single is on. 'When I need inspiration, when I need advice, I turn to you."
1364 - Human Nature - Whisper Your Name (1997) - This was one of my absolute favourite tracks from Human Nature. I remember not being able to help singing along to this! Even now, I sing along to it, and that key-change after the 3-minute mark! Love it.
1363 - The Veronicas - Leave Me Alone (2005) - No music video was made for this single, which sucks, but it didn't stop me loving the song!
1362 - Brooke Fraser - Deciphering Me (2006) - Brooke had a couple of damn good songs, but this is her lone song in my countdown. This was a beautiful sounding track and I'm very surprised it only went Top 5 in her home country.

Clean sweep! 1360 - Marie Wilson - Won't Keep A Good Girl Down (1999) - This chick just kind of burst onto the Aussie music scene out of nowhere. It's surprising trying to find her old music also, as she seems to be one of those indie artists that just happened to have a few breakthrough hits. This was one of them for me!
1359 - Toy-Box - Tarzan & Jane (1998) - Yes, yes this made my countdown. You aren't seeing things But I've had to base my chart on how the song made me feel upon it's release, and I happened to be 14 at the time and very impressionable This is bubblegum pop at it's finest.
1358 - Spiderbait - Calypso (1997) - They had a song just miss out on the countdown ("Buy Me A Pony") but this time they made it in! In the time I write this, the song is pretty much over. Such a short song (but not as short as "BMAP"), but very catchy!
1357 - Destiny's Child - Bills, Bills, Bills (1999) - This was the first song I heard from Destiny's Child, despite them already having a previous album. Whoops! It was very popular on AusStereo in the late 90's, so I heard it a lot. I initially only thought it was okay, but it grew on me.
1356 - 5ive - Keep On Movin' (1999) - I loved 5ive (Or 'Five') back in the 90's! Pretty much all of their songs charted for me at some point, and I enjoyed this one. The boys knew how to make good boyband music!
Coming up...
1355 - A Californian pop-rock singer's final 2011 single from her third album. In the music video she dances around a supermarket with some friends. 1354 - A Top 30 ARIA pop single from this damn fine Melbourne singer in 2001. 1353 - The 4th single from the 2002 debut album from this dance-pop British singer-songwriter, where she sings about how music makes her feel. 1352 - A 1999 trance track from this Finnish DJ about something you might encounter in a desert. 1351 - The doo-wop Motown Aussie boyband return with this 1999 track, but you won't see them crying about it.

Well done again! All correct 1355 - Sara Bareilles - Gonna Get Over You (2011) - Catchy catchy catchy! This was the single that made me fall in love with Sara's vocals, and the way she incorporates the backup singers to do the 'bup bups'
And what a cute vid to boot!
1354 - Joanne - So Damn Fine (2001) - Joanne just burst onto the Aussie music scene with her catchy ultra-pop tracks. This song was so damn fine!
1353 - Sophie Ellis-Bexter - Music Gets The Best Of Me (2002) - Everything about this song lyrically is just brilliant. She sings about human love coming and going, but music has always stuck by her. That person has to understand her music comes first, and she doesn't want her two loves to fight with each other. And she's set it to a damn good tune. I got to see her sing this live in Sydney at Mardi Gras a few years ago.
- "Feel The Beat" scraped in at #1484 in my countdown, and here we have it's predecessor, "Sandstorm", coming in 132 positions higher! This song is just a great head-bopper clubbing track with no words whatsoever, other than the dog barking in the video I loved it as a 15 year old teenager.
- I really went through a Human Nature stan-phase there didn't I? I've lost count what number entry this is from them. I do remember it was the chorus that made this song for me, wheras the verses were just meh, and I thought the boys harmonized really well.
Coming up... 1350 - The American metal band return with a 1997 single about not having dementia. 1349 - This 2000 cover of a 1990 British pop song was sung by an Aussie singer of Torres Strait Islander descent. 1348 - This 2002 English electronica Top 40 single (except Canada & reached 41 in USA) featured the vocals of Shifty Shellshock from the band Crazy Town. 1347 - The 2002 second single from the third album from this "Born in Mississippi, raised in Louisiana" pop singer, whom went a bit crazy in 2007. 1346 - Pipa's and JessieLou's (and maybe other member's) male and female robot voices were used in this Italian DJ's 2002 single
