Trust me, this is just the beginning of the ugliness.

KP, I love ya, and I hate to be a Debbie Downer, but I personally am not a fan of ranking people based on how they look (although I appreciate that you're mentioning BOTH genders, a lot of people feel the need to only rank women). Sorry.
And for the record, Eddie Vedder, back in the 90s, was HOT.

this is the worst thread i've seen on m4b in the past 4 minutes. The thread just started. Surely you've gotta have 10-20 posts before you can begin to judge a thread. Fair enough, but that's why I said it's all for fun. People try to downplay the importance of looks, but they are a big deal and the first thing most of us notice about other people. I can understand why you'd like '90s Vedder.

I'm surprised Kid Rock is at the bottom of the list as he usually ranks high on them.

Would do: AJ, Channing, Ronda and Demi. I think Missy and Pink would eat me alive.

Plus, it's what's the inside that counts That's a lie they tell you to make you feel good about yourself. Somewhat. Outward appearances matter because they let people know what type of person you are - in the sense that, if you take care of yourself by how you care about yourself, if you do, that sort of thing.

I disagree, plus these people all probably take care of themselves very well, and even if they didn't, I think it's very wrong to judge someone for that, tbh, I think it's very wrong to judge somebody about anything, but looks especially, they tell you little to nothing about the person, and you don't know anything about them, people dressed in any kind of clothing could be the nicest of people

Not always. I was never stick thin growing up, but the ones who were ate more junk food than I did!

Judging someone doesn't always have to be a purely negative thing. It's not judging that's bad, it's how you judge that matters. We all form opinions on people we see for the first time. That's what first impressions are. And first impressions can be pretty hard to change. And looks can tell you a LOT about people. It's more than simply clothes people wear or how they do their hair. I'm talking about things like presentation. Facial expression, how they wear the clothes they wear, how they simply present themselves. Are they confident? Shy? Cocky? If you google photos of people you don't know, I bet we could all come up with a general idea of what type of person they are based on how they look. Not their look as in their face or things they have no control over, but how they look as in how they choose to present themselves. But also think about, if you see a man wearing tattered clothing who obviously hasn't shaved and showered in weeks, you're going to form an opinion on him. Now, the opinion you form is what matters here and I think is what you're referring to. You're going to think one of two things: a. he's a bum and you might consider him lower than you are, or b. he's in an unfortunate position in his life. If you're capable of having compassion, there's nothing wrong with judging people as long as you're fair. My thoughts are, you grab people with your looks and you keep them with your personality. That works in nearly any situation. Dating, employment, friends. How someone chooses (choice being the key point!) to present themselves tells other people about their personality. How you make yourself appear is like speaking a language to people you might never get to talk to but who will see you. And all of this goes beyond brand names and luxorious clothes - because those are the things that don't matter, unless they matter to you. Not always. I was never stick thin growing up, but the ones who were ate more junk food than I did! That's assuming you consider larger body sizes to be a bad thing. It goes back to how the way you judge other people says more about you than it does about the person being judged. If you believe someone who is overweight is a lazy slob or is ugly, those show things you value in other people's look, but that's something that you believe.

If you believe someone who is overweight is a lazy slob or is ugly, those show things you value in other people's look, but that's something that you believe. I don't feel that way at all, I made that point because when I was younger I was overweight and had terrible acne, and unfortunately a lot of people assume that when you look like that you don't take care of yourself or care about how you look. Meanwhile, I was trying every product known to man to get my acne under control, and when most of my classmates would grab lunch at McDonald's, I'd be worrying about that 100-calorie bar I just ate. My point is, while you are right about your looks giving a first impression, sometimes that impression is completely wrong and that's when you should try getting to know the person before judging them.
