ie: the first song that you've charted from the artist was a #1 debut
Or highest debut from a new artist, if you have none
For me:
Octahate - Ryn Weaver
Featured Artist
Roxanne Emery - Shelter
I would include Problem and Heartbeat Song but Ariana Grande and Kelly Clarkson but they would've had many songs chart if I had started my chart before

There've been a few on my chart:
• KT Tunstall - Black Horse And The Cherry Tree (2005) • Serena Ryder - Weak In The Knees (2007) • Moldy Peaches - Anyone Else But You (2008) • MGMT - Time To Pretend (2009)
Serena and MGMT were the only ones so far to debut at #1 on my singles and album chart in the same week for their first chart appearances.

Technically my November 15th 1991 flashback chart, which is my first flashback chart (day I was born) had a #1 debut from Nirvana with "Smells Like Teen Spirit". They were a new band at the time (in the mainstream anyway)

Sara Bareilles debuted at #1 with her first hit, "Love Song", on April 12, 2008. It's never happened again.

As wild and crazy my chart is, it has not happened in quite a long time....though I do recall putting Pinboys - Tonight at #1 when it debuted on my chart over 7 years ago. They might have started the trend along with Nightwish [#2 at the time] for International artists not from Canada, Australia or England to make an impact on my chart. If I recall, nobody has done that since.

My only #1 debut in 30 years of charts was Together Again by Janet Jackson, November 30, 1997

I've probably missed some that debuted there, or called some debuts that weren't because I don't remember, but I have:
25 February 2006: Fall Out Boy - Sugar, We're Goin Down 2 September 2006: Gyroscope - Dream vs Scream 24 May 2008: MGMT - Time To Pretend 19 September 2009: Sam Clark - Broken
