I'm really liking this CD. It's more upbeat and a bit more varietal than 'Scarlet's Walk'.
Anyone else get it?

I was weak and downloaded 12 of the 19 tracks before the release of the cd itself. I ordered from amazon yesterday, and can't wait until I hear the remaining 7 songs. BUT I already have an opinion on the cd. Most of the song took me many listens to fully appreciate them. Yes, it is far better and far more diverse than Scarlet and that's why I like it so much.
I saw a picture of a poster on a message board, and it stated that the singles were gonna be "Sleeps with butterflies", "Cars and guitars" and "Sweet the sting". How do you feel about the chosen songs? Epic is trying to cater a more pop audience, but I think if they released a song like "Marys of the sea" or "Barons of Suburbia" they could still appeal to a more 'alternative' audience. I don't know, I feel like the singles do not do justice to the album. Regardless, I am happy to see that SWB is doing well.
Oh and one last thing, WHERE'S THE DAMN VIDEO??!!?? The song was released on January 10th, the video was shot January 29th and we still don't have it?? what kind of lousy promotion is that??
Woohoo for Tori and The Beekeeper!!
What are your favorite songs?

Well, alternative won't play her and while AAA might, it won't do her much good but if she does go pop, I hope it's Incubus style and not Liz Phair style. I love the three mentioned singles. Sweet The Sting is AWESOME! So Leonard Coheny!

I don't think "Cars And Guitars" or "Sweet The Sting" would make good singles... there are much better tracks on the album like "Parasol" and "The Beekeeper"... but I think "The Power Of Orange Knickers" is going to be the next single because she performed that on Last Call With Carson Daly. What are your favorite songs? "Parasol", "The Power Of Orange Knickers", "Sleeps With Butterflies", "Ribbons Undone", "The Beekeeper", "Goodbye Pisces", "Marys Of The Sea", and "Toast".
