Kinda weird but when a label stops supporting an album that I really like, I like to continue having singles "released" to make my chart. As for David, this isn't an official release but I think should have been and it's following up two previous #1s (time of our lives/surfacing) Same for Michelle Branch, who peaked at #3 with this song. Jason Mraz's 'On Love, In Sadness' became his fourth #1 in a row and 'Tonight, Not Again', I chose as the first single from his Live CD/DVD. Chantal's two songs are my favourite album tracks from her album but both are on their way down now ('waiting' a former #1 is 31 weeks on). Melanie Doane's album only went three singles deep so I carried it on, as with Jewel, who impacted on MT40 with 'Leave The Light On'. Kathleen's album is great and 'National Steel' is the sixth single from it. All of these songs I consider singles for my own purposes and often times I will refer to them as big hits and whatnot.

jessica will love that and i love your #1 recurrent Sarah Harmer made it to #3 with 'Almost'. It was her fourth Top 10 in a row following Silver Road - #3 (2002) The Hideout - #10 (2003) Basement Apartment - #10 (2004) Almost - #3 (2004) As for Alanis, 'Eight Easy Steps' isn't doing as good as an Alanis single should. 'Everything' was the highest entry of the year so far but peaked fast at #2 and didn't even make 20 weeks on. If she can't have at least one #1 from this album, she won't be considered a core MT40 artist anymore since her last #1 was 'Hands Clean'. I guess in retrospect, 'Everything' was a flop for her so a lot is riding on the next few singles.

LOL, That's exactly what I do!! ;D SOO, I'm very pleased to see "Wednesday" by Tori Amos, great track Are you the guy with 10 Darren Hayes singles on your chart? With my chart, I treat the singles like they are treated in real life so only one will get released at a time. Michelle Branch is due for a followup next month as well. Anyone have suggestions?

No, I am not. I don't even like Darren. I do it just like you, being realistic.

Lemme guess: a Jason Mraz fan? I loved "The Remedy" and charted it for 21 weeks - including 3 weeks at #1. I also charted "You and I" as high as #6. However, none of his other songs have clicked with me. Good to see Avril and M5 in your top 10. Avril recently peaked at #7 on my list, and M5 spent three weeks at #5.

His CD was my favourite of 2003. 'The Remedy' - #1 (4) (30 weeks) 'You And I Both' - #1 (3) (40 weeks) 'Curbside Prophet ' - #1 (2) (38+ weeks) 'On Love, In Sadness - #1 (1) (12+ weeks) 'Tonight, Not Again' - #40+ Maroon 5 had back-to-back #1s. 'This Love' and 'She Will Be Loved' both made it. Avril kinda had back-to-back #1s. 'Don't Tell Me' peaked fast at #1 but she had two songs rising as well so it fell fast out of the Top 10 but at one point, that, 'Take Me Away' and 'My Happy Ending' were all in the Top 5 Greatest Gainers at the same time. 'Take Me Away' peaked at #19 and 'My Happy Ending' #1 for 7 weeks.

I like that your chart idea is the same as mine.
MT40 has been going on for almost 10 years now, which is neat for me. It's older than The Max chart by about 3 years so it has a lot of history. I first started it because when I was 10, I wanted to be Casey Kasem so I made a Top 20 based on songs that I had immediate access to, which then was my tapes and CDs and it carried on like that. Now it's quite detailed with a list of songs going for adds and when they go for adds and stuff.
