50. David Cook - Fade Into Me PEAK: #1 (1 week)David Cook came back strong in 2011 with his album "This Loud Morning", which ended up as one of my favourites. This single, "Fade Into Me", was an instant favourite of mine, so when it was released as a single, it ended up giving him a second #1 on my chart. How high will his other song, "The Last Goodbye", end up? 49. David Guetta f/Usher - Without You PEAK: #7David Guetta has been one of the hottest club producers for some time now, and his album "Nothing But The Beat" continued on with the hits and top-notch collaborations. This song, which brought Usher back to the top 10 on my chart for the first time in 7 years, became one of my favourites from both artists. 48. Rachel Platten - 1,000 Ships PEAK: #9One of those breakthrough artists on Hot AC this year, singer, songwriter and pianist Rachel Platten launched her career with this catchy song, which caught my attention and gave her a top 10 debut single. Who knows what the future will hold for her? 47. Selena Gomez & The Scene - Love You Like A Love Song PEAK: #7Selena Gomez, however, has generally been rather consistent with her hits over the past few years. Following the disappointment of "Who Says", she went back to the catchy, uptempo pop songs she does best, and this, which reached the top 10 on my chart, became one of my favourites from her so far. With "Hit The Lights" currently on the rise, things already look promising for her in 2012 as well! 46. Goo Goo Dolls - All That You Are PEAK: #7The movie "Transformers: Dark Of The Moon" was another success in 2011, as was its soundtrack. Other songs from Linkin Park and Paramore reached the top 40 on my weekly chart, but this song, by the Goo Goo Dolls, who also contributed to the 2007 Transformers movie, became my favourite from the soundtrack, becoming yet another top 10 for them on my chart. 45. Pia Toscano - This Time PEAK: #8Her 9th place exit on American Idol sparked outrage... but in the end, she got a recording contract of her own as well. This debut single showed that she clearly has the talent, and it really caught on with me, becoming a top 10 hit on my chart, one of many American Idol contestants so far to do so. 44. Britney Spears - I Wanna Go PEAK: #7Britney Spears was back on form in 2011, and while much of the album "Femme Fatale" wasn't up to her usual standards, the singles were all top notch. This song, while her only CHR radio airplay #1 from this era, was the only one of her singles this year to miss #1 on my chart, but its longevity helps ensure it is in my top 50 songs of the year. 43. He Is We - Happily Ever After PEAK: #5Another Hot AC breakout artist this year was He Is We, the duo who scored with this song. I'm not sure what the future holds for them, but this song definitely caught my attention. 42. Kristina Maria - Let's Play PEAK: #2Taking Canadian radio by storm in 2011 was Kristina Maria, with this dance-pop anthem that quickly ended up reaching the runner-up spot. The follow-up, "Co-Pilot" also did moderately well but failed to reach the top 100 year-end. 41. Roxette - She's Got Nothing On (But The Radio) PEAK: #3Who saw this coming? Sweden's finest pop duo, Roxette, returned in 2011, showing the world that they still have what it takes to do catchy pop songs like they did back in their heyday, as this wouldn't have sounded out of place on their early albums.

40. Kate Voegele - Sunshine In My Sky PEAK: #4Every time Kate Voegele releases a new album, she's always bound to have a lot of songs on my chart! Back over the summer, this was one of several tracks I charted from her album, and its summertime feel helped it become one of the top-charted songs of hers over the summer. Still three more songs from Kate to come, all three of which reached #1 on my chart. 39. Martin Solveig f/Dragonette - Hello PEAK: #9Canadian electropop group Dragonette has had several hits over the past few years in their homeland, but it wasn't until they teamed up with French DJ Martin Solveig on this song that they achieved a worldwide breakthrough. The song was one of my favourites as well, reaching the top 10 on my chart in the spring. 38. Jessie J f/B.O.B. - Price Tag PEAK: #9One of the year's top newcomers was British singer Jessie J, who broke through in a big way with this catchy tune. I do see big things continuing for her in the future, as she's already scored two big hits on my chart, and while "Domino" actually peaked higher, this ranked higher overall due to a longer chart run. 37. Suzie McNeil - Merry Go Round PEAK: #2Suzie McNeil is another artist I've always enjoyed somewhat since her debut several years back, but this song surprised me with how much I liked it! So much so that she managed to make it all the way up to the runner-up spot on my chart with this one, my favourite song from her to date. 36. Daughtry - Crawling Back To You PEAK: #1 (2 weeks)American Idol contestant Chris Daughtry and his band broke through in a big way in 2007 with five top 5 hits on my chart, including two #1's. While they went through a sophomore slump afterwards, they came back strong with this, spending two weeks at #1. Hopefully they will have more hits from their latest album after this! 35. Duran Duran - Girl Panic PEAK: #2And now it's the highest entry for these guys, and it's just as good as many of their 80's classics! With a sound coming straight from their glory days and a video featuring many top supermodels, how could they go wrong with this? 34. Cher - You Haven't Seen The Last Of Me PEAK: #2Cher has been known for her numerous comebacks over her long career, and this song was definitely no exception. Taken from her film "Burlesque", this power ballad is a throwback to her classic hits, reuniting her with songwriter Diane Warren, and became one of my favourites of her entire career! 33. Taylor Swift - Back To December PEAK: #3Taylor Swift has been one of the biggest stars in pop and country music over the past few years, and she continued the hits from her album "Speak Now" in 2011. This ballad became another one of my favourites from her, and ranks as her second highest appearance. 32. Katy Perry - Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) PEAK: #4Talk about an amazing year... Katy Perry certainly had a great 2011, and this song, which had one of the year's most memorable videos filled with several hasbeen celebrities, helped her tie Michael Jackson's record for most straight #1's from a single album on the Billboard Hot 100, with 5. On my chart, it was also a notable hit, and her highest entry on my year-end chart. 31. Taylor Swift - The Story Of Us PEAK: #8We just heard from her at #33, and now here's her highest entry of 2011! This song about an awkward encounter with her ex-boyfriend, became another favourite from her, and she scored yet another top 10 on my chart with this.

30. LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem PEAK: #8In 2011, "Party Rock Anthem" lived up to its title, being one song that was so huge, it was impossible to avoid! This song really took me by surprise, as it's not the kind of song I'd expect to like, but I just couldn't resist, and even though it's one of the most overplayed songs of the year, it still managed to make it into my top 30 songs of 2011. 29. Britney Spears - Hold It Against Me PEAK: #1 (1 week)An anticipated comeback that delivered in 2011 was Britney Spears. I instantly loved this lead single, and while it didn't have as much longevity as her classics, was still a sizeable hit, and her third highest entry of 2011. 28. JoJo - Disaster PEAK: #3Who saw this coming? She's been away from the scene for a few years, but the now 21-year-old singer has returned with a song that feels like she was never away to begin with. Welcome back JoJo... you certainly didn't show a "too little, too late" with this one for me, as she still managed a top 5 on my chart! 27. Britney Spears - Criminal PEAK: #1 (2 weeks)And here's yet another Britney song! When I first heard her "Femme Fatale" album, this was one of the instant standouts for me, moreso because it sounded slower and unlike the previous 3 singles from the album. Heck, it even had a flute intro! Despite not being a big hit for her, it still managed to reach #1 on my chart for 2 weeks, and rank comfortably within my top 30 of 2011. 26. The Script - If You Ever Come Back PEAK: #4While these Irishmen have had plenty of hits over the past few years, the song that really caught my attention the most from them was this song, despite not being a big hit at all! Rather odd how that came about! While their songs often don't become hits over here until 6 months or so after their initial release, this one caught my attention immediately, and became my favourite Script song. 25. Anggun - Only Love PEAK: #1 (2 weeks)Who saw this coming? I'd always liked some songs by Indonesian singer Anggun, this song really took me by surprise! So much so that it became her first #1 on my chart, and scores a respectable top 30 placing on my year-end chart. 24. Apocalyptica f/Brent Smith - Not Strong Enough PEAK: #3When it comes to rock bands who pull out the A-list collaborators for vocals on their songs, Finnish cello band Apocalyptica know how to do it well! This single has two different versions with lead singers of popular rock bands; the album version with Shinedown's Brent Smith and the radio version with Hoobastank's Doug Robb. Regardless, this gave them another top 10 hit on my chart, and a strong showing on my year-end. 23. Adele - Rolling In The Deep PEAK: #4This was another one of those songs that just could not be avoided in 2011! Adele had several hits before this but nothing could possibly prepare me for how huge this song would be! Her album "21" was by far the best selling album of 2011 worldwide, and songs like this definitely show why. While this was the song that helped her career soar to new heights, she managed to beat this out with one other song... how high did "Someone Like You" rank? 22. Steven Tyler - (It) Feels So Good PEAK: #6Steven Tyler, lead singer of Aerosmith, found himself in the spotlight once again as a new judge on American Idol... so he took the opportunity to release a solo single! This song, for me, was just as good as many of Aerosmith's classics, showing that at age 63, he still hasn't lost his touch yet. 21. Alyssa Reid - If You Are PEAK: #1 (5 weeks)One of my favourite newcomers of 2011 is 18-year-old Canadian singer Alyssa Reid. She got her start on the reality show The Next Star (which at another point, also included fellow chart star Victoria Duffield), and this was her proper debut single. While it initially hit #1 for me in 2010, this song stayed on my chart well into 2011, and as a result, just misses my top 20 overall. She does have one more song to go in the top 20!

20. Alyssa Reid f/P. Reign - Alone Again PEAK: #6While "If You Are" was released prior to this, it was this song that helped Alyssa Reid really break through, as it was a huge hit in Canada. Taking cues from Heart's hit "Alone" and adding some new lines, she delivered this irresistible tune, becoming the first of my top 20 songs of the year. 19. Britney Spears - Till The World Ends PEAK: #1 (2 weeks)And here's the highest entry for Britney Spears! This dance-pop song is pretty much in line with her current style in music and it worked well for her, spending two weeks at #1 on my chart. 18. Maroon 5 - Never Gonna Leave This Bed PEAK: #1 (2 weeks)Every album, Maroon 5 tends to have their big mid-tempo/ballad song, and usually it's released as the third single. This album was no exception, it was a song I'd always wanted released, and when it was, it didn't disappoint in its performance, spending two weeks at #1 on my chart. How high did their biggest hit of 2011, "Moves Like Jagger", rank? 17. Kate Voegele - Say You're Mine PEAK: #1 (1 week)Here's only the third highest entry for Kate Voegele! When sampling songs from her latest album "Gravity Happens", this song, an upbeat pop tune in the style I think she does best, was one of the immediate standouts, and not surprisingly, as a result, became her 12th #1 so far on my chart, and third to be taken from said album. How high are the other two? 16. Simple Plan f/Natasha Bedingfield - Jet Lag PEAK: #3Talk about a strong return... Simple Plan is one band I've always enjoyed to varying degrees, and this song was one of my all-time favourites from them. Take your pick of female vocals on it, with Natasha Bedingfield doing the English version and Marie-Mai doing the French version, and you have a smash either way you slice it! They score their highest year-end position to date here.

15. Lady GaGa - Born This Way PEAK: #1 (1 week)In 2011, the return of Lady GaGa was highly anticipated. This lead single, with a powerful message to be proud of who you are, no matter what you are, was very reminiscent of Madonna's "Express Yourself", and it became another big hit for her, reaching #1 on various charts, including my own, where she spent a single week on top. Despite this, another song of hers that failed to reach #1 beat this out! 14. Demi Lovato - Skyscraper PEAK: #1 (1 week)After surviving several personal struggles, Demi Lovato persevered and recorded this song as the lead single from her latest album, "Unbroken", proving that she could stay strong and get herself an emotional vocal performance. This became her first #1 on my chart, and ranks at #14 for the entire year. 13. Red Hot Chili Peppers - The Adventures Of Rain Dance Maggie PEAK: #1 (1 week)Another band who came back strong in 2011 was the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and this song, with their classic sound all over it, became one of their biggest hits to date on my chart, spending a single week at #1. They certainly haven't lost their touch, as songs like this are testament to, and their longevity has definitely proven they deserve their Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction! 12. Lady GaGa - The Edge Of Glory PEAK: #2And now here's Lady GaGa's highest entry for 2011, one of her most emotional songs to date. The song gained a totally new meaning when Clarence Clemons of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, who played saxophone on this song, died of a stroke during its chart run. One of the greatest moments of her career so far, she scores her highest year-end position ever for me. 11. Swedish House Mafia - Save The World PEAK: #1 (2 weeks)Who saw this coming? I certainly didn't... but as time went by, I really started to like this song by three Swedish DJ's after hearing it on the DJ Tremble weekly radio show, and eventually, it gave them their first #1 on my chart. It ended up gaining enough longevity to rank this high... but ultimately, fell just short of a top 10 placing.
