"The Wait Is Ova" was just a publicity stunt...the official first single is called "Russian Roulette" and is leaked today (October 20).

So, I have to say - I am BLOODY impressed.
It could have been really easy to try and re-create (and fail, most likely) the magic of 'Umbrella' or 'Disturbia'. But instead - she puts out this, one hell of a power ballad that packs a serious punch
Surprised, but pleasantly so.

Definitely something completely different sounding...very dark. I love it though!

Gosh I love Rihanna so much. Doesn't look like she's going to have a slump anytime soon.

Not what I was expecting, but it's great. Possibly a future #1 for me.

I was expecting a mess going in, so to hear something like this was a pleasant surprise! ;D

This one's going to have to grow on me. Other than "Take A Bow" and "Rehab," (and a brief flirtation with "Unfaithful") I've never liked any of her slower songs. And I don't love this one off of the first listen either. I'll have to see how things go. I'm still very Rihanna-ed out. lol!

This track is just dying. +230 on CHR and barely top 10 on iTunes.

Whether fairly or unfairly so, I think it's caught a lot of static from people who say it glorifies suicide. It's possible some stations that might have eventually added it to their playlists have been scared off by the small but vocal minority. Plus, her label's already released the much more radio-friendly second single, "Hard."

"Hard" is not necessarily the most friendly track either. The entire vibe of this "Rated R" era is very un-welcoming and not the good-natured mantra of Rihanna tracks I think people are used too.
I would not be surprised if "Hard" bombs, and it's already slowing down at CHR - and I bet her album will drop heavily after it's first week out.
Such a shame. Probably the biggest letdown of the year.

Don't worry, knowing Rihanna every track off of the CD will be a single and I'm sure at least one or two of them are bound to be hits.
