I'll review the CD song-by-song
1. Intro -- I like how this serves as an intro into the CD's first single. It should be fused together with AYHN as one track.
2. Are You Happy Now? -- I bought the CD the first day of release NOT because I liked the first single. 90% of the time, that's what I'll do when buying a new CD but in this case, the highest I ever would have rated 'Happy...' would have been a B. I just heard it was a good CD and I liked Michelle so I figured, why not!
3. Find My Way Back -- I can see this song being a single in the near future. It sounds so radio friendly. On most any other CD, it would be a highlight but on this particular album, it's not really.
4. Empty Handed -- I like this song too. I especially like the bridge of it.
5. Tuesday Morning -- It took more than a few listens to appreciated 'TM' but it is among the best on the CD, although not the best, it's still a nice song.
6. One Of These Days -- Although being my favourite song on the album, I have so many beefs with 'OOTD'. First of all, the beat doesn't suit the song. ESPECIALLY the clicking that cuts in halfway thru verse 1. That sounds so out-of-place. If this song was just piano, it would be AMAZING. Secondly, the ending is WAY too abrupt. The chorus should have been repeated one more time before the final two lines were done and if I could, I'd make my own version of the song like that. Thirdly, the song itself is too short but mostly because of the ending. Otherwise, it's an A+ song!
7. Love Me Like That -- By all right, this should be my favourite song on the album. Michelle Branch AND Sheryl Crow on one track. It kinda sounds like a Dixie Chicks type affair. I think there should be some steel guitar in this track too to make it sound more country. But otherwise, this song hasn't totally clicked with me. I like it but not as much as I'd like to like it.
8. Desperately -- This song probably rates as my second or third favourite song on the CD. I absolutely love this track and am sure not to skip over it (which I did before I discovered its goodness).
9. Breathe -- I really love this song too. Favourite #2? It's the next single and I'm thinking that will taint my love for 'Breathe'. So for now, I'll enjoy it!
10. Where are You Now? -- This is another favourite of mine. Maybe my fourth favourite of the album. Good stough!
11. Hotel Paper -- I'm not a huge fan of this song like most people seem to be. I like it to hear it but otherwise, it doesn't stick out as a great song compared to the others.
12. Til I Get Over You -- I really like this song but the french brings it down. It's the type of song that I could absolutely love for years and years but there are attributes of it that I'm just not fond of and that spoils the song overall.
13. It's You -- I was late on discovering how much I liked this track. It's a very simple song with a guitar backup that I just die for!
