I've had quite a lot of problems with my computer lately, and i've been wondering if it comes from the fact that im still on SP1 (i got told that SP2 made a lot of problems, but they've been fixed now).
So i tried downloading SP2 for my computer. The name of the file is the following : WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe
But for some reason at the end it says : The core system file (kernel) used to start this computer is not a Microsoft Windows file. The Service Pack will not be installed. Knowledge Base article W327101.
Can anybody help me ? My computer IS Microsoft Windows XP. So what is the problem ? What is the core system file??
I really need to update my computer to finally put SP3 because the problems are really annoying...
Thanks in advance for whoever will bother to help me apart from Bryan. xx
