Here's 20-11: So don't go act all sweetness Cause honey that's not right I want you…20. JOSH KELLEY “Only You” Then I came with No More Drama I remember that week It was when Aaliyah died I couldn't hardly sleep…19. MARY J. BLIGE F/ THE GAME “MJB Da MVP” Everything she does is beautiful Everything she does is right…18. LIFEHOUSE “You And Me” (probably the most-used recent song in the current television season!) So pull yourself over me Until there's nothing left to see…17. DARREN HAYES “I Like The Way” This is fear - welcome to my little flood And now - give me a little of your blood… 16. CASEY STRATTON “Blood” (Junior Vasquez remix) A classical piano record flipped into a trance anthem… amazing piece of music! When the heartache is over I know I won't be missing you…15. FREEMASONS F/ AMANDA WILSON “Love On My Mind” A fabulous reinvention of Jackie Moore's 1979 disco classic “This Time Baby”! Where do you go when you're lonely I'll follow you … when the stars go blue14. TYLER HILTON & BETHANY JOY LENZ “When The Stars Go Blue” It took a few listens, but these two voices are really made for each other! Wind me up put me down Start me off and watch me go…13. CAESARS “Jerk It Out” iPod commercial strikes again! Here comes the rain again Falling from the stars Drenched in my pain again Becoming who we are12. GREEN DAY “Wake Me Up When September Ends” The best song from American Idiot successfully follows up the long lasting “Boulevard Of Broken Dreams” to the Top 10. It's something that you need to have Cause when she leave yo butt she gone leave with half11. KANYE WEST F/ JAMIE FOXX “Gold Digger” Kanye West makes no mistake about telling it like it is, at no one's expense. With Jamie Foxx's callback vocals, it's easily one of the catchiest rap records in years!

And now, the final 10, with a few comments along the way. Enjoy! Love me, kiss me till the end of time Only you and me…10. THE BITCH HOTEL F/ RIVAZ “End Of Time” An out of the blue dance hit for me – I heard it blasting away in Future Shop one evening and found out that it was from McMario's Sun Factory 6 compilation. Absolutely guilt free fun, with a retro disco feel to boot. I am the wizard of ooh's and ah's and fa-la-la's Yeah the Mister A to Z They say I'm all about the wordplay…9. JASON MRAZ “Wordplay”Who's to argue with one of the finest wordsmiths and male voices today? His Mr. A-Z CD wasn't quite on the same level as Waiting For My Rocket To Come but still fun (and he was definitely over the top in concert). Watch from more good things from Jason Mraz. I'm quiet you know You make a first impression I've found I'm scared to know I'm always on your mind…8. HOWIE DAY “Collide”Howie Day's got the crown this year for Sensitive New Male Vocalist. I'm surprised more accolades have not found their way to him. His earnest performance and great voice will get him far, especially if he continues to write gems like “Collide” and “She Says”. “Collide” is just full of small lyrical landscapes… It's like she's cast a spell I wish I knew how to break it (long pause) So you take a little notice of me…”7. jASeFOs F/ CLAIRE VAN DER BOOM “Do What U Want”Australian DJ Jase From Outta Space created one of my favourite dance records this year, particularly this remix by Max Graham. It's well sung music for both your feet and your head. And you sing to me and it's harmony Girl, what you do to me is everything Make me say anything; just to get you back again…6. ROB THOMAS “Lonely No More”I think after such a great 2005 that Rob Thomas would be hard pressed to return to his matchbox twenty days. This first hit from Something To Be made sure that audiences remember the voice that can sing a great song. And I'm sorry but it's not a mistake And I'm running but you're getting away… 5. ROB THOMAS “This Is How A Heart Breaks”And this R&B-tinged solid rock effort made a great pair of back-to-back hits for me with “Lonely No More”, garnering Thomas a couple of Grammy nominations. And I won't call you baby anymore Won't call you baby like I did before Won't call you baby anymore… 4. LOW MILLIONS “Eleanor”My favourite CD of 2005 comes from the latest creation from Leonard Cohen's son Adam, who once put out a promising solo debut in 1998, but nothing until the Ex-Girlfriends CD by his new band (as well as a French language CD which did well in Europe). While some of the stories on the CD were sometimes a little unusual, but nevertheless interesting, it was more straight forward songs like “Eleanor” that were most satisfying. But I have been thinking (Again this is bad) It seems like my thinking Can drive you quite mad…3. TYLER HILTON “The Letter Song”Certainly Tyler's first major label release “When It Comes” showed a lot of potential, and won favour at the M4BCC message board. But it's his full length debut CD The Tracks Of that is worth listening to from start to finish. How else would one find gems like “The Letter Song”, just a delightful piece of whimsy about a guy who really shouldn't be writing anything because he gets his words all wrong. This one held my interest for most of the year and was possibly just too frivolous a choice for a year end #1 – but it came damn close! It ain't pretty After the show It ain't pretty when the pretty leaves you With no place to go… 2. INXS “Pretty Vegas”Okay, I do have a bit of bias here. INXS is one of my favourite bands of all times, I saw them three times in concert when Michael Hutchence was alive. He was a fascinating and commanding stage presence that truly cannot be replaced. I happened to catch only the last episode of “INXS:Rock Star” to see J.D. Fortune's performance in that episode, and it convinced me that only he out of the remaining contestants could be the lead singer of INXS. And this song, co-written by Fortune with a couple of the other contestants, does the INXS name well. Fortune also does a terrific vocal on this particular tune. I've just got the Switch CD for Christmas, and there are three or four other potential follow ups to “Pretty Vegas”, so watch for them in 2005. And if this is the only outing Fortune and INXS end up having together (which would be a shame since they are a great match, and the band still sounds terrific), watch for a solo career! Take a look what you've started In the world flashing from your eyes And you know that you've got it From the thunder you feel inside… 1. DAVID GUETTA F/ J.D. DAVIS “The World Is Mine”This year, I went for what was most captivating. Any time this song comes on the radio in the car, the radio gets cranked. It also happens to have mesmerizing lyrics, compelling vocals, a provocative video, and a great beat! So while French DJ David Guetta's “The World Is Mine” was neither a major hit nor will change the world overnight, it sends signals out to me that pop music again will embrace dance music a little more in the near future. So here's to whatever 2006 will bring us! The Top 3 songs were so close together it was hard to decide this year. Happy New Year! www.geocities.com/tunedon/bestof2005.html

I'm so happy Rob Thomas wasn't #1 And so extremely delighted that David Guetta was #1. Easily the best dance track of the year alongside Global Deejays. Good show Bill!
