20. "Beverly Hills" - Weezer In their first chart appearance since 1995, Weezer had a great comeback this summer, reaching #2 in September.
19. "We Belong Together" - Mariah Carey After having been relatively quiet for a few years, this second single off "The Emancipation of Mimi" led the way for Mariah's very successful return to the pop charts this year. Reached #2 in June.
18. "Laffy Taffy" - D4L Debut single from this Georgia rap group. Released this fall, it quickly rose on the charts, and hit #2 in December. Excellent song, in my opinion.
17. "Pon de Replay" - Rihanna Prime example of an "explosive" summer hit. Reached #2 in July.
16. "Don't Phunk With My Heart" - Black Eyed Peas This was the first release off "Monkey Business", (and my favorite song off the album), which reached #2 in June.

Kelly! (I know you love her )\ Much as I don't, she's got a few more songs that have yet to come on my top 100 of the year. The reason is that Billboard ratings account for 30% of my chart rankings, and Z-100 airplay accounts for 25%. Is there any reason you decided to allow outside sources influence your personal countdown?

Is there any reason you decided to allow outside sources influence your personal countdown? This is a countdown of the 100 songs that performed best on my Weekly Hot 100 Singles Chart. My Weekly Hot 100 is supposed to reflect current trends in the pop music industry, not simply my own preferences. That's why Kelly Clarkson spent 8 weeks at #1 this spring, even though I don't care for her at all. I limit my own preferences to 40% of the points which determine the rankings on my chart.

Mariah just exploded onto the scene this year, and your chart is no exception. GREAT to see her make the top 20 with what I believe to be her best single in atleast 6 or 7 years.
Nice showings for Weezer and the BEPs, too!

15. "Behind These Hazel Eyes" - Kelly Clarkson As much as I can't stand this song, its high Billboard rankings and continual airplay on Z-100 caused it to reach #2 in June.
14. "Feel Good Inc." - Gorillaz / De La Soul Returning from a three-year hiatus this spring, Gorillaz made a great comeback onto the music scene with this record. It was the first single off "Demon Days," and reached #2 in July where it spent the next 12 weeks. "Feel Good Inc." currently holds the record for the most weeks at #2 on my chart (that is, the biggest single which never made #1). Strangely, Z-100 never added this song; it never once appeared on their weekly playlist. One of my favorites this year.
13. "Let Me Hold You" - Bow Wow / Omarion This #1 single spent a very short time at the top - just one week, the week of October 29. Another favorite of mine.
12. "Don't Lie" - Black Eyed Peas The second single off "Monkey Business", it spent one week at #1, the week of November 5. Not my favorite BEP song, but still one of the best this year.
11. "Gold Digger" - Kanye West / Jamie Foxx Another single-week chart-topper on the week of November 19. It was the second single off "Late Registration," the first ("Diamonds From Sierra Leone") being a near-failure.
