I don't know how many Dancing With The Stars fans there are around here, but today, ABC announced what stars would be dancing this coming fall:
Tucker Carlson - MSNBC news anchor and political pundit Monique Coleman - of Disney's High School Musical (I guess we know who John's rooting for...) Sara Evans - Country music superstar behind such hits as "Suds In The Bucket" and "Born To Fly" Willa Ford - Famous for being Nick Carter's ex, and the song "I Wanna Be Bad" Vivica A. Fox - actress best known for her roles in Independence Day and Kill Bill Harry Hamlin - star of L.A. Law and husband of last season's Lisa Rinna. Joe Lawrence - Whoa! One of the famed Lawrence brothers, and former co-star of the sitcom Blossom Mario Lopez - of Saved By The Bell fame. Was married to Ali Landry for about 15 minutes before cheating on her Shanna Moakler - former beauty queen, Playboy model, and soon to be ex-wife to Travis Barker Emmitt Smith - NFL legend and 3 time Superbowl winner Jerry Springer - Host of the Jerry Springer Show, radio broadcaster and politician

Sounds like a great lineup of people! I'll be interested to watch it all unfold when the new season starts. I didn't watch Season 1. I DID watch Season 2, lost interest about halfway through, and then picked it up again during the second-to-last episode.
I'll be watching!

I'll probably wait to check it out a few episodes in. I enjoyed the last few shows last year when Drew Lachey and his partner deservedly won. Lawrence, Fox, Coleman, Evans and Ford have probably got some moves - we'll see out of the rest who has the hidden talent!

I watched the first few episodes - and aside from the dazzling routines of Joey Lawrence and his partner, it wasn't so interesting. I was surprised at Lopez and his partner's crowd pleasing performances, but this isn't a show on which you can just go and do your own thing. I'm waiting for a couple more episodes to see who improves and is more interesting to watch.

DWTS has been one of the biggest-rating shows in australia over the past 2.5 years.
Kym Johnson, who was Jerry Springer's partner until she got injured, won our as the professional dancer in the second series.
From our experience in Australia the older celebrities generally tend to get voted out early unless they are very entertaining and show genuine improvement.

Yes. She had been in the bottom two for the first two or three weeks. But after getting good reviews from the judges for the past couple of weeks, the voting audience has seemed to get behind her. She hasn't been in the bottom two for awhile now.

Alas poor Willa was jettisoned (prematurely, to me) from the show last week. So it's definitely a popularity contest to see how far Jerry Springer can go... and of course Sara Evans has dropped out as she filed for divorce last week. So other than Jerry, that leaves Mario, Joey, Emmitt and Monique.

With one less contestant on the show, that's one less week of airtime (and ad revenue) for the show & ABC. Even though it would be unfair to the remaining contestants, I would think the producers, etc. would want to bring back one person & have the show last the originally planned number of weeks.

Well, it looks like they didn't bring anyone back. They had asked Willa to return, but she said that she was voted out, and so be it.
They made a point at the end of the show to not mention that anyone would be going home next week... just see how your votes affect this week's bottom 2, and how Sara's drastic departure would have an effect on the competion. So, this week is a gimme, and nobody's going home, I'd imagine, just like when Idol booted Corey Clark.

Jerry gave it the good college try, but he's gone and the contest is now between Mario, Joey, Monique, and Emmitt.
