So has anyone seen this one?
Thoughts? Comments? Criticisms?
Critics have completely trashed this movie...

I haven't seen it yet, but apparently it defied all expectations and grossed over $70 million dollars in the U.S.....and over $220 million dollars worldwide. This is a movie I'd like to see.

GREAT movie! Very faithful to the book, and Audrey Tatou is awesome. Ignore all the criticism!

I was a little let down by the movie after reading the book. It just seemed to skip quite a bit, and just didn't flow as well as I thought it would.
On the other hand, it's still a decent movie if you have nothing to compare it to.

I was really disappointed with this movie. The script was horrible and the plot just didn't flow.

Never read the book, and was not intrigued by the trailers.
But a 224 million worldwide debut weekened was enough to get me curious. And good thing. Because I thought it was fantastic.
Very very interesting.

I was a little let down by the movie after reading the book. It just seemed to skip quite a bit, and just didn't flow as well as I thought it would. On the other hand, it's still a decent movie if you have nothing to compare it to. You have to know that when there was a great book before the movie, the movie will never be as good or better as the book.... I was disappointed by Amityville Horror. Why..? The movie itself was great ! But if you make the mistake to read the book before you watch the movie, you'll definitely be disappointed because a lot of parts arent in the movie or are completely changed.. like the end, the dad actually "wakes up" and leaves the house with his family, but not with the boat but with the car ! But they realise the dog is still in the house, the poor thing. so the dad runs out (at this time its raining like crazy outside) to get the dog and take it with them. They never return to get their stuff... Also, the ghost is there because there's a special and old cemetery under the house and there's a small hole in the basement of the house (or however its called..) and thats how the ghost came into the house. And this ghost "appears" in the book/real story as green glue or something, that appears on the walls ! anyway, the way its written its awesome... I just can tell you guys to read this book, its one of my favorite books because its rare that a story scares me lol
