2006 has got off to a slow start with only 2 #1's so far, the slowest since 2002, but here's the track record on my bi-weekly chart:

Pretty interesting that 2003 had so many #1s, considering the dominace that Evanescence had!

1964 35 (You Really Got Me The Kinks - 4 weeks) 1965 30 (5 songs with 3 weeks) 1966 30 (Good Vibrations Beach Boys - 5 weeks) 1967 25 (Blues Theme Davie Allen & The Arrows - 5 weeks) 1968 32 (Hey Jude Beatles - 5 weeks) 1969 28 (Honky Tonk Women Rolling Stones & Get Back Beatles - 5 weeks) 1970 30 (let it be - beatles - 6 weeks) 1971 30 ( 5 songs with 3 weeks at #1) 1972 30 ( 7 song with 3 weeks @ #1) 1973 30 ( 6 song with 3 weeks at #1)
2001 - 15 (only 26 charts) 2002 - 32 2003 - 24 2004 - 32 2005 - 34 2006 - 31
My chart has always been a Top 31 with a 13 week limitation of weeks on chart during a single chart run. This forces a great deal of turnover, which radio use to do for most of the 60's.

i've updated mine.
I've only had 4 different #1s in the past four months (October, November, December, January) which is an extreme rarity for me.

I was just thinking about this earlier today! It seems like the number of songs at #1 has gone down just about every year since I started...
1998 - 40 1999 - 37 2000 - 34 2001 - 41 2002 - 35 2003 - 28 2004 - 27 2005 - 23 2006 - 22

I only had 7 #1s in 2006. Mostly because Utada Hikaru's "Passion" was #1 for 24 weeks.
