It's never happened on my chart... in fact, I've never had an artist with 2 songs in the top 5 at once.
I have, however, had 6 occasions when I've had an artist with 2 songs in the top 10:
Shaggy It Wasn't Me, Angel (2001)
Michelle Branch Goodbye To You, Game of Love (2002)
Kylie Minogue Slow, Red Blooded Woman (2004)
Britney Spears Toxic, Everytime (2004)
Avril Lavigne Don't Tell Me, My Happy Ending (2004)
Ashlee Simpson Pieces Of Me, Shadow (2004) forgot all about this one!
Christina Aguilera Car Wash, Tilt Ya Head Back (2004)
Eminem Mockingbird, Like Toy Soldiers (2005)
Santana I'm Feeling You, Just Feel Better (2005)
And the following had 2 songs in the top 5 at once:
James Blunt Wisemen, Goodbye My Lover (2006)
Rihanna S.O.S, Unfaithful (2006)

Only once did an artist have two songs in the top 5.
Hilary Duff #2 - Why Not #5 - This Is What Dreams Are Made Of
And only once, did an artist have three songs in the top 15
Hilary Duff #2 - This Is What Dreams Are Made Of #13 - Why Not #15 - So Yesterday

only once have i had 2 songs in the top 3 at once... that of course the Rasmus whom this very week have #2 AND #3
songs by the same artist in the top 10 at once asn't happened too often either
Santana: ft. Michelle Branch "The Game Of Love" spent 2 weeks in the top 10 (10-9) while "Why Don't You & I" was scaling the upper echelon of the top 10 being #3 and #2 those weeks
Dixie Chicks: was #3 with "There's Your Trouble" and entered the top 10 at #10 with "Wide Open Spaces", they would spend 3 weeks in the top 10 at the same time, both would also occupy the top spot at one point or another
Jay-Z: had 2 simultaneous top 10's rising for 3 weeks, and would occupy two slots in the top 10 for a whopping 6 weeks... the songs in question... "Can I Get A..." and "Hard Knock Life" though in theory they weren't from the same era, i charted CIGA late because i heard it only shortly after HKL... both would also take over the top for one week with only Rage Against the Machine between them
that is all of them

In 2003, the first week of June on mine saw Justin Timberlake have Senorita at number one and Where Is The Love? (with Black Eyed Peas) at number two.
In 1998, Aussie band Regurgitator had Polyester Girl at number one and Black Bugs at number two for about 7-8 weeks until I gave in and just put them together. Ironically, later on it was involved in another 1-2 with another Regurgitator song titled '! Song formerly known as'. These songs also finished at 1 and 2 on the end-of-year chart. The rare event of a band's song replacing another of their songs at number one also occurred in this instance, as it did in 2003 with Junior Senior when 'Rhythm Bandits' replaced 'Move Your Feet' at number one.
In 1996, Celine Dion had 'Power of the Dream' at 1 and 'It's all coming back to me now' at number 2.
In 1997, Michael Jackson had 'HIStory' and 'Blood on the Dancefloor' at 1 and 2 interchangably for a few weeks.

Hasn't happened to date. The closest is two in the Top 5:
The week of 10/18/03, Avril Lavigne's "Tomorrow" fell 2-5, and "Things I'll Never Say" jumped 7-2. TINS would peak there. "Tomorrow" left the Top 5 the next week.

On MT40, it has only happened once. Back in 1999 when 'Feels Like Home' and 'Before You' were #2 and #1 respectively for three weeks.
On The Max, it happened with those two songs as well as currently with Avril and 'Don't Tell Me' and 'My Happy Ending' at #2 and #1 respectively. (They were also #1 and #2 respectively). I'm not sure if Alanis did it in her prime of 1998/99 though.

I'm not sure if Alanis did it in her prime of 1998/99 though. If I recall correctly, "Unsent" and "Joining You" occupied the top 2 at one point with "Unsent" on top.

I'm surprised I haven't responded yet to this topic! Here's mine:
From 11/29/03 to 12/24/03, Madonna had back-to-back top 2 hits. "Me Against the Music" (w/Britney) and "Nothing Fails" had the top two positions in different order for five weeks. On 12/24, "Love Profusion" jumped 5-1 and "Nothing Fails" fell to #2.

If you count producers, two songs produced by the Matrix held #1 and #2 in the same week ("So Yesterday" by Hilary Duff and "Why Can't I" by Liz Phair). The next week, both songs flip-flopped.
