I don't know if this would make sense to anyone but here goes:
How many songs do you play yourself, whether on your CD player, computer, ipod, etc, that are currents to you? So, basically, at a single time (or a period of a week or two), songs that you play on a regular basis and thus are "currents" to you.
Me, I would say probably alittle over 100 songs are "currents" to me at any given time. I have alittle over half of my Top 100 Max chart that I consider to be current (meanwhile, other songs are older and thus would be the equivilant to "recurrents") and then on my MT40 chart, there's that entire Top 40 plus the N&A there and about half of those are songs that don't appear on The Max chart. So in a period of a week or so, I'll probably listen to most of my currents at least once.

You mean old songs that you play like they're brand new?

jajajaj I love this thread Well, my playlist, the one I always play, consists right now of 359 songs. Yeah, a lot, isn't it? The thing is, since the discovering of eMule thanks to Steph, I became a huge pirate and stopped downloading songs, instead, I go for full albums jajajaja. So, from those 359 songs, more or less around 40 are 'recurrents', not so new songs (usually the last singles or a very few from years ago). And the rest, well, those include current singles, as well as song that I, for a lack of a better term, consider b-sides to those singles. I download for example the album "The Beekeeper" by Tori Amos, and she releases "Sleeps with butterflies", so then, i put that on my playlist and choose other couple of songs from the album to play at all times. This causes sometimes that these songs also debut in my chart. Then, whether she releses more singles or not, I choose another 2 or 3 or 4 songs for my playlist and remove the old ones. This way, I keep getting focused on songs, while keeping the albums fresh, cause I am continually adding and removing songs. Of course, i also play the full albums when i want. This way has worked very well for me! And as you can see, I listen a lot of music.

Usually the 100 songs currently on my chart, plus a few songs that have a chance at debuting. So usually hovers just over 100 per week.

I usually have close to 100 songs that I listen to weekly... most I skip over and therefore don't chart.

Every song that you would consider a current for you. So basically a song that started off slow (or fast, in some cases), then increased in rotation for you and will eventually level off. I'm not necessarily talking about complete albums unless you listen to a complete album on a regular enough basis.

I usually burn 20 MP3 files to a CD each month. I pick my 20 favorite songs, and remove them from my computer once I've burned the disk.
So, in the meanwhile, most of the songs that I'm currently charting are on my computer. I have 96 files right now.
I don't have an iPod.
