This former member of the rap group, N.W.A. may be more well-known for producing hit records, but he was one of the premier rap artists of the early 90s...and the man responsible for introducing Snoop Dogg (then known as Snoop Doggy Dogg) to the masses. Only after taking a break in 1996 - and then retiring permanently earlier in 2004 - has Dre primarily concentrated on producing songs for other artists and building up his own record label, Aftermath Records.
